OK, here's my problem. I am just trying to make a small server for me and some of my friends to play on, I finally figured out I have to type in sv_lan 0 but now, when they are in game for about 2-5 minutes they get an error message that they say is somethign like this: "dispatchusermsg : User message #### equal the number" or somethign like that. Could someone please help me by telling me what is wrong and how to fix it if I can. Thanks.

    does it have something to do with the command sv_timeout ? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    What OS are you running it off?

    Linux or Win32?

    What version of NS are you running?

    I am using Win32 (windows 2000 professional to be precise) and I'm using the 1.04 version of NS or whatever the newest one is.

    Are you running any 3rd party plugins?

    i.e. Metamod? AMX/Clan/Admin mods?

    Now this is running over the public internet? Does it go through NAT?

    Also, what kind of connection is this running off of?

    I am using cable modem, no 3rd party plug-ins (well, rcbot) and all im doing is going to internet games and clicking create server. I don't know where it is like what you said. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I believe this comes from HL or a plugin not being able to send a message to a player, because that "player" is actually a bot. Ditch RCBot, and see if things work.

    More importantly than plugins, are you using a router? I've got a Linksys 4 Port router that is EXTREMELY notorious for giving that error. I quit trying to host a server behind it because people couldn't maintain connections.
    I think that some method of getting the server to work has possibly been done. Do a search for "server" and "linksys". Also set it back to read beyond just 30 days. You'll find a lot of threads on it.

    i get all sorts of jacked up errors on the lan even. Its not his router persay. Its actually the clients setup. You know under internet games were you set your connection speed? yeah, set that to the correct speed. Also, My friend could not join from ASE. always kicked him out. But connecting from the ingame browser seemed to stop his problem.

    These are a few solutions that worked for me, hope it helps.
