Weird Warping

<div class="IPBDescription">but no actual lag</div> Weird, every now and then my NS (this has happened with other mods too, for that matter) just starts warping around as if I was having a 700 or so ping, but my ping is staying in the 70's. This started happening yesterday and it pretty much makes playing impossible (don't know if there are some problems with my ISP for a change, that might just be it too <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>). The most annoying thing about this is that there is no apparent reason whatsoever, mods worked perfectly a few days ago.

My specs, just for the heck of it:
1,1 GHz AMD
256mt RAM
GF2MX/MX400
1mt cable

Still got the problem. Tried changing the cl_cmdrate, cl_updaterate, cl_rate and cl_cmdbackup values but no luck. It has to do with packet loss though, I noticed that regularly theres a loss of bout 3 and immediately when enemies/teammates come into view it goes up past ten. Also got some choke, ranging from... 30 to 100 when there is any, I think. Not all sure though.

Now, if someone could explain this to me as simply as possible I'd appreciate it. This is very irritating, I didn't change any values and NS and other mods have worked perfectly before this.

hmm, well, ns is sorta heavy lode style stuff...

I think MonsE has a thread that might help you out (it is webbed in the Off topic forum)

if not, you might just wana go poking around looking for HL tweak guids (sorry I really just don't do this stuff that much)
