Modified crate texture

<div class="IPBDescription">Cory-flayra is this ok bye you?</div>I was yust fooling around and ended up with some new versions of corys fabolous crate textures.
I was yust testing some ideas i had so here is the end result so let me know if you want these for the wad or if i should delete them as i cant use them outside ns and cory haves the copyrights as i only modified and changed his art. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

would maybe be cool for the mappers to have crates that not look all the same. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
I modified all the 3 of them so let me know darklords of ns.

    There is some strange people coming here now all dressed in white and telling me that they are taking me somewhere where i can rest for an long time because iam not ok.
    i dont understand wath they mean with that iam occckkkkk

    Hehe.  Let me forwarn you before Cory or Flayra catches it...

    The 'second' crate texture is actually the texture Cory intended to be used on the top of a crate brush textured on the sides with the first crate texture.  In fact, even in the first texture, the top strip was originally meant to be used for the top of the crate.  It's a bit of an inside joke, because nobody realized this for a long time.

    I've done an infested version of Relic's excellent nos_crate if anyone's interested.  No pics at the mo but I saw this topic an had to reply.

    Relic if you look at NS_ONE (the very first user made map) I think you'll find that those crate textures are used properly  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    Not sure which "darklords" you are referring to but I'm fine with the the hue change you've done to the crates, Cliff.  I've been wanting to find some time to do more crate textures, but this will maybe help people out for the short term.  

    As I've said before, in general, I don't mind people messing around with my textures if they are going to be used in NS maps.  A lot of mappers already do, to get more mileage out of the textures.  Since I can't produce an endless stream of original textures we are going to have to rely on other people either altering the existing ones or creating their own.  

    All I ask is that people try to stay true to the original look.  For example, I don't wan't to see a bunch of my textures floating around out there with Pokemon characters slapped all over them <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    To give credit where credit is due, that crate texture that Chromeangel crudified is a barely modified (1 color change) texture from Shaderlab.

    Yust right click on them and convert to bmp and insert as they are named so that there aint a bundle of the same named differently.  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    See this stuff makes me realise how important textures are, and i didn't even consider they were people who made them <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    I mean you're a real artist you know that cliff, and cory 2. It's just amazing how you get those textures the way they do.
