    I was playing and we had one hive, the marines had a phase and a turret farm up in both. The gorge then drops a sensory chamber. It was NO help whatsoever as the mareines were just building and upgrading in their hives, but we managed to recapture one hive and get defence chambers. We then managed to recapture the last hive, but it was very hard, the com was scanning a lot so the sensory chambers couldn't even let us cloak/regen. We managed to win in the end, but the sensory chambers was essentially a null choice for chamber.

    Its not the same as a marine com not building what the marines want, as it is IRREVERSIBLE, unless the marines are kind enough to kill a hive for you. A lot of people seem to have high brightness, contrast, gamma or fake models as even in shadow I am often sniped while cloaked.

    Sensory is purely for tracking down the last marine with scent of fear.

    Movment can be usefull if you only make it when you have secured a second hive, as if it gets overrun the gorge can teleport back to first hive, heal up and then him and all the skulks can port back to the building hive and defend it, as long as the marines are attacking it.

    Yeah, it's loads of fun at first. I love playing with sens, it's fun. But splatting time after time after time against turrets and mines as you try to stop them JP rushing gets old fast.

    Yeah, I didn't appreciate just how fast an uncarapaced skulk goes down until I played a game the other day when a person gorged at the start, built a sens chamber on a res node, then left the game. We really got screwed, not that we couldn't ambush but the marines could cut us down like grass (it was eclipse so it was a bit open but still...)
    Sensory first can work, but it's tough. And like a previous poster said, it gets old real fast splattering against turrets which you can chomp through with ease with carapace.

    The gorge commands,he/she is not your personal slave as monse says.i think flayra should implement new option to NS,a system what decides the starting chamber at start to second hive chamber and third(everyone can config this,so if someone wants MC,DC,SC he/she configs its so,if someone wants DC,MC,SC he/she configs so),or admin can leave that thing unselected and let gorges decide likes its meant to be.we gorges just want have fun,so let em have FUN!i dont like the style every fps/RTS is turning into:we must win even with lamer tactics i dont care if you have fun you have to make my way.Games originally were intended for fun(as flayra intends NS be).

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->cloaked skulk vs marine = dead marine.

    If you build sens first it greatest effect because

    at start

    marines have no mt
    marines have no (or very small) outposts
    marines have very few sentries
    marines have to walk around the map to get somewhere
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    By this time some of the marines will have moved out of their base already. They will have a couple of RTs, which will probably be mined up. Sens skulks die in 1 mine. One or two marines at each rt will be plenty to hold it. At that point, who cares if they get a hive? Sens was semi-viable in 1.03 where the object was to lock down two hives, requiring marine movement. In 1.04 all you need to do is hold res.

    I get kicked off server for building sens first because they can not play with the cloak (especially when they are fade and have no adrenaline).
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    *shrug* lots of fades don't know that cloaking is extremely powerful as a second chamber for a fade. I would never complain if a gorge built it second, but I would if he built it first.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
    sens haters are just newbies. A good skulk can play with any chamber. A fade too (if he can actually use the other 70% of its abilities if he has no adrenaline).
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    If you get sens first and actually manage to make it to fade, the marines are newbies. JP lmg rushes are basically unstoppable against a half decent group of marines using sens. I can get extremely high kill ratios as a sensory skulk, but I can't actually do anything _useful_.

    Once again, this thread has devaited from its original course. It was not a debate about the viability of sens first, it was about banning a griefer and players that have no idea what a team game is. If the whole alien team wanted Sens first, I would kick the gorge for building Def. Get with the program, this is a team game, it is not a place for powerless adolescents to exert their control over a server full of people by being a griefer.
