<div class="IPBDescription">this needs to be decided.</div> I have seen Onoses, Onos, Onii, Onoi, etc.

My personal vote is for either Onos (same for the plural or singular, like sheep or deer) or Onii.
Any philologists out there, want to set us straight?

Onos. Onosses. As in bus - busses. Onos isnt any pseudogrecolatin mumbo jumbo, it's made from the marines yelling "Oh no!" when they hear the roar of the onos. So onoses (or onosses).

Don't be silly - this is English, not Latin.

    ---

Anyway, there's been a thread (maybe more) on this already. The answer is "onos" - simply becasue there are times in the manual where they're referred to as "onos" in both plural and singular forms.

<i>"Through the sound of gunfire and grenades, the screech of leaping Skulks and swoosh of acid rockets, a faint roar is heard. The alien weapons fall conspicuously silent. The turrets stop. The roar is heard again, much closer, much louder. Then four marine's, almost in unison … "Oh no". All hell breaks loose, contact is lost. These "Oh no's" mark the first contact with this species." </i>
I guess based off the origin the plural could be ocra or oshi

As far as I know, there is no 'official' plural - I for mine tend to call multiple Onos "Holy Sh*t".

I always just use "a herd of Onos" to mean more than one...and I don't get alot of time to tell people before the end. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

"A herd of Onos heading for base!! GAH!!....<splat>"

That or "Oh My GAWD!!" <death>

I mean, they are big, cow-like beasts that rip people a new one...with horns and tentacles on their backs and stuff...a herd kinda works!

Using the same logic that turns "oh no's" into onos, "oh sh*t" would be something like osht. That's such a funny combination of letters to look at. I'm all for it!

    Onos. Couldn't be clearer.

Now I don't know how old this joke is already, but some one said this in game yesterday and it was kinda funny.

    "How do aliens have sex?"
    ..
    ..

    ...
    ....
    .....
    "They Bone'os!"

But it ain't greek! It's bloody english. Onosi, onosoi, onosae etc. is just trying to squeeze onosSES into categories they dont belong into <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> And the most glaringly obvious plural form would be to add -es or -ses since it's english. Onosses. Long to type, so i just use "onos". Sorry if the cool factor is WAY too low on mundane onosses. But call them what you like, they'll gore with impunity whether you call them "onosoidz", "onoz0rs" or "Uncle Bob!". They care for you and will do their utmost to obliterate you in spite of your indecisiveness on what to call them. Think im a little bit late, but to clarify, youkai = demon and oni = ogre.
also i think o sh*t would be the best plural, even if it isnt politically correct
