<div class="IPBDescription">ready room + Frontiers men spawn</div> I've been building a map for NS. I have a lot of mapping experience but I've never actually built an entire map. So I've decided to build a complete map for NS because NS rox! plz give comment on marine spawn and ready room. Tell me if you would expect more details, less details, more light etc etc... I want to get as much comment as possable because I want to submit this map to NS (or whoever handles maps <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

I wanted to change the marine spawn point, but I first want to know what you guys think.

    Very nice brushwork and the layout of the MS is very unusal and interesting. Kudos! you should put up some pics of it. 2 things tough: the doors don´t lead anywhere yet and you already got 500-700 w_polys in parts of the marine spawn. could give trouble. oh and the one i have been hearing "easy with the hazard texture" <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    but nontheless the brushwork + texturing looks great i envy you <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Looks good. The only thing I think may be of concern is the size of the room. Not the area, but the volume. If you are planning on making the rest of the map in those kinds of proportions you may run out of polys.

    I thought the layout and construction was good - textures and/or lighting still needs improvement but you probably know that. and this is the first map I've seen that DEFINITELY has WAY TOO MUCH hazard striping.

    Nice start, looking forward to seeing it progress.

    There's not much else to say that there other's havent. That marine spawn is HUGE, and no one's positive how that'll effect gameplay, as there aren't any huge marine spawns anywhere else. It'll either be the easiest base ever to defend against rushes... or the hardest.

    Actually the only thing I know for sure I don't like is the ready room Random Entrance. I for one love to go random, I'm just an avid player of both. Yet I also like joining right in on the action, I'd rather be able to just jump right in. What if you made the entrance to the Random in a hole in that raised plate between the alien and marine join areas. It's not like you could ever get stuck in a random entrance because it'll just assign you to the team with less people.

    [Edit] As for the name... either let the map inspire it (aka: when you're finished) or let the name inspire it and finish the rest of the map from here.

    I also had similair thoughts: R_speeds are still up too high, lighting should be improved but I was really worried about the base defence because it's a difficult job to protect the base when aliens run rampant over the ceilings. And there are still some tweaks: door leads to nowhere (I was thinking to let the door lead to a room and that the door should be welded from the other side). I'll update the map and construct some new sections of the map. I'll post again (think in this topic) in about a week.
