Concept: machine that is difficult to obtain and maintain, but worthwhile.

Nutrient Block Machine - a machine that converts edible materials into nutrient blocks.

Size and Appearance - this machine contains 2 containers with a connecting tube between them. The left-side chamber (larger of the two) contains the Intake Panel and the Mixing Chamber; shows a spinning device and a small water intake valve leading outside. The small gap (Chopper) connects the left side to the right side; shows a knife. The right-side chamber contains the Dehydrator and the Outtake Panel; shows a wire rack with steam vents (steam comes out when the device is working).

Mechanics - 5 total components. Only produces 1 Nutrient Block at a Time.
1 Intake Panel - 4x4 container where edible items are placed. Cannot be reclaimed.
2 Mixing Chamber - mixes food together into a homogeneous mass. Water provided through valve in case water value is below 0.
3 Chopper - cuts mass of food into a block equaling 75 food. Process will stop if total food value is below 75.
4 Dehydrator - dehydrates the block to remove water value.
5 Outtake Panel - 2x2 storage of finished Nutrient Blocks.

Material Cost - 2 titanium, glass, wiring kit, lubricant, survival knife.

Placement - one wall section of the Multipurpose Room. Snap-to-grid placement like the Water Filtration Machine.

Time - 20 minutes to fully produce 1 Nutrient Block, 80 minutes for all 4.

Power Cost - 0.5 energy per second, 1200 energy for a single Nutrient Block, 4800 energy for all 4 blocks.

Location - Data Box or Single Fragment in the Dunes or Mountains biomes where danger is prominent.

This is perfect. It's not over powered in any aspect, but very useful for players to survive. I would love this as an addition.

I'm fairly certain that nutrient blocks are made from a tardigrade paste. I'm not sure how easy it is to digest a tardigrade, but it must not be too difficult because of how abundant the food items are. As for fabricating them, there are a good deal more tardigrades in water than there are floating around in space; and so instead of the Aurora scooping up tardigrades in empty space like a whale, I assume that nutrient blocks would be an output of the water purifier. Perhaps a nutrient block once every four salt cycles. (that is, you'd have like three bottles of filtered water before you have a single nutrient block).

The knife doesn't make sense for this. Remember that you're probably going to be fabricating the blocks like you would anything else; so printing lasers would be the best idea.

Finally. It would be good to have craftable Nutrient blocks.

Another fauna which wasn't added to the game was called the Threadbumper, I believe. A relative of the Cave Crawler and another un-added fan-made creature called the Forumprowler. What the Threadbumper would do is weave its bioluminescent webs all around an area so as to attract Forumprowlers. Expecting a point of interest, a Forumprowler would approach- only to be sucked up by the Threadbumper's un-necessary and counterproductive posts.

Fun fact: The concept/fan art for the Threadbumper and Forumprowler were developed alongside a fan-made submarine called the 'Idauntgiva-Ship'

On these forums it really isn't considered a thread bump until the thread has been dead for like 3 months

I was thinking of something like this in the cyclops. A small cramped living accommodations (2 hideaway cots, simple terminal for notes, *food fabricator)in the keel behind the vehicle bay.

I feel like the mountains and dunes is a little too dangerous for a food mixer.

    Other than that, good idea

Maybe instead of a knife you use two knives to make it so it would be a double blade inside it
