Equipment Disappearing From Inventory

I am about 6 hours in, and suddenly noticed that my equipment disappeared from my inventory. I lost my knife, rebreather, fire extinguisher, air bladder, etc. This was all in my personal inventory. I searched, but cannot find any recent reports of this happening. Is this a bug others are facing? For now, I used the console commands to give myself back the equipment I lost, but that is not ideal.
I should mention that I bought the game from Steam a week or two ago, and my build is 1/22/2018 12:08:04pm
