Any chance of getting NS1 onto Steam?

Is there any chance NS1 could be added to the Steam store as a mod that can be downloaded through the Steam content delivery system?

It seems to me that one of the main barriers stopping the game having at least a few players/some events is the fact it has to be manually installed at this point.

I think this was planned (and got pretty close?) back in the day - ValveTestApp120 was available on Steam to select people I think. The valve folder at https://github.com/unknownworlds/NS/tree/master/releases may have been the version that was deployed.

I would love to see this on steam as well and think it would help add more players
