Also why would a creature have serrated edges on its ribs

ligament attachment points? maybe the muscle tissue needs a better grip on the bone at this scale to be able to move the weight of the creature.

or maybe the bones protrude into the digestive system to aid in breaking it down?

or it looks cool. thats what im goin wit.

lol the lack of imagination here. Why does it have to be "Leviathan" we already have one. Why not Twinkle Toes or Sparky or Pepy the glow frog or Lumeel?

Ok seriously now, how about Shadow Serpent or Noctiluca Serpent (nocti stands for night and luca means light)

Sorry, I don't know why I thought that was hilarious, it just was to me.

The Sea Phantom for the translucent one.

As for the sharp teeth like ribs - maybe helps move it's meal down its digestive tract.

"Leviathan" is the classification we give to large predatory creatures.

    I.e. Reaper Leviathan
    Sea Dragon Leviathan

This creature looks cool, but you know what I want? The creature that had those bones in the image. THE CREATURE THAT ITSELF IS A BIOME.

Well I just had a terrifying thought: what if those aren't ribs? What if those are the legs of a giant, alien, ocean-dwelling centipede and the rest of its body is just buried?

I want this added now xD A gigantic centipede that eats straight through your home in a bite. Could dig underground too, leaving gigantic caves in its path. Your just swimming through a strangely shaped tunnel, then suddenly in the distance you see a gigantic bug the size of the tunnel itself zipping towards you.

I think it's the Revival Leviathan that revives all threats from the Lost River of Sunken Threats ... (please don't remind me of any misspellings).

Sheesh, it's not cool to necro a year-old topic! It's very confusing and more often than not, it only brings back heavily outdated info to confuse everyone.

Wow... the word "Leviathan" gets thrown around a lot. I wonder what a Leviathan class submarine would be like (it'll probably be constructed by Captain Nemo/Prince Dakkar)...

Not really. There's currently only 3 leviathans: Reaper, Sea Dragon, and Emperor. This will be the fourth. Unless you consider 4 "a lot".

Actually the Sea Emperor doesn't have the word Leviathan in its name. Besides, Leviathan is is just a class designation to extremely large life forms.

Well would you prefer to stuck with one reaper leviathan, or four?

Even though four by it's number isn't classed "A lot" as you stated, it can be a lot depending on what the number applies to, As I just said four reapers is "A lot" is the sense of danger.

There are currently four types of Leviathan-class life forms in the game, not counting the Ghost one ofc:

Reaper, Sea Dragon, Sea Emperor and Reefback.

That seems incorrect. I believe "Leviathan-class" refers to how dangerous a creature is, not size.
Also, before you say it: I know the Sea Emperor is meant to be peaceful. That doesn't mean it couldn't easily kill us, just that it doesn't want to.

I personally like Phantom Leviathan. Has an eerie sound to it and matches the description. As well as the fact that it has been referred to as the phantom leviathan by most people even while not confirmed. I know that is not its official name set by the devs but I would like it to be.

    @dealwithitdog - From Wiki:

Leviathan (/lᵻˈvaɪ.əθən/; Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן, Modern Livyatan, Tiberian Liwyāṯān ; "twisted, coiled") is a sea monster referenced in the Tanakh, or the Old Testament. This word has become synonymous with any large sea monster or creature.

    From the Subnautica wiki:
As noted in the Reaper Leviathan data bank entry, the 'Leviathan' part of its name is a classification given to extremely large and dangerous predators. The same can be assumed for the Sea Dragon Leviathan. So its both, plus its only a classification for predators.

The Ghost Leviathan should definitely be the big bad in the Lost River. It looks perfect for the biome and is creepy as well. Its transparent body just......Fits. It should definitely be in the game.
