No Instructions / Guide inside game:

I just purchased Subnautical and are still trying to find out where exactly on the crashed ship the subs are located. However, obvious Radiation-leak prevents any chance of getting anywhere close. ...There is no mention or instruction in game about this.
...Any Assistance regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to keep this spoiler-free.

Take your time to gather resources and check all the items you can make in the fabricator. There might be something that will protect you against radiation if you've got lead and fiber mesh.
There is a way to stop the radiation if you can reach the Aurora. If you've fixed your lifepod, you know what to do. Your main concern is whether the game spawns crash powder for you, as this ingredient is known to be bugged at the moment.
Do not prioritize the Aurora. There is only one thing of true interest currently there. And that thing isn't something that will be useful until (what is right now) late game.
As for any subs, you might want to check out the areas with red grass, piranhas, and sharks. But only after you've built yourself a scanner.

I've actually had a big problem with the radiation. I haven't actually crafted the radiation swimsuit myself but I've spawned it in and it sometimes doesn't provide protection from radiation. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended.

Do you wear all three pieces of the radiation suit? Because only the three of them together (suit, gloves, helmet) provide full protection. If you wear all three and the suit doesn't give full protection, that's def a bug.
