Multiplayer/NPCs

I have been hoping for some degree of multiplayer for sometime and I know I cant be alone! You could have it spawn players in different areas (via pods, since abandoned pods are already able to be found on the sea floor). I've also been in the situation when im roaming my base thinking to myself, "man its so empty in here". Maybe you could add NPCs such as buildable droids/drones like security drones to patrol the outside of your base and keep predators away, farming drones, cleaners and ect I think that would be really cool any thoughts?

It would be fun to create a sort of puppet to talk and develop forms of insanity in the player character.

Yo that would be so freaking funny like name the drone Wilson hahahahaha but seriously bases need a little more activity within them and multiplayer in survival games are never bad

or at least be able to find and "rescue" NPC's that come back and live in your base/ help navigate cyclops

exactly without friendly things in the base it just feels empty and dead especially late game when you have a big one!

The only thing i hate more than being alone is being left in a large place with absolutely no one talk to, ( and having my lockers disappear)

I have to disagree on the subject of multiplayer. As for NPC's... maybe later in development.
The only companion I would really love to have in this game in the computer with a sarky humour : "Greetings, Survivor. Great job not dying". If you've played any Borderlands game, just think of Claptrap and you'll know what I mean. I LOVE robots and computers with humour.

I like the idea of robotic tennats with a personality and give them function too like, say speeding up farming, searching the area for certain materials and ect. And Im not saying only multiplayer like they should do what ark did and allow single player games or multiplayer games. Subnautica is such an immense game world that it would be so much fun to explore with a buddy!

Recon drones outside would be cool to, you could add monitors that show what they see and maybe let them ping when they find something interesting. There could also be a console linked to collector drones that could go collect ore/scrap/ect found by your scout drones and leave it in a new bay for your base.

The only thing we have to remember is that the developer has to be able to write the code for all of this.... which is NOT easy, but even if the bases came with like 2 bots that said "welcome aboard captain" when you enter that would make the game a bit more entertaining

we need BOTH that would be cool, but when talking about multilpayer 1 problem pops up... the fixed carcheter. in the game your spawned as non costimizable charcter so random models for people j0j?
