    It's been known for a while but the bug report never had a picture so I never looked at it. Maybe I will now.

    No no. It totally makes sense, it's for when you kneel. If you had the knee guard directly on the kneecap, you couldn't crouch, it's gotta be slightly higher or lower. Since the things we're fighting are around the knee level looking up, having it lower makes sense to me.
