Is there a way to adjust your FOV in the command console like you can with mouse sensitivity? I'd like to have numbers in the settings menu, but since that's been ask for since the beginning I'd like another method of setting my settings to more exact quantities.

IF you have dev mode on, yes. "dev 1" But remember it's in dev mode for a reason, because it does some really crazy stuff if you set the value too high.

You can try playing around there?

    C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2\system_options.xml

    <fov-adjustment>1.000000</fov-adjustment>

    I havent tested it.

    edit:
yeah i forgot... as posted below, its not that easy since fov varies between unit - so i guess thats not really what you wanted by tweaking numbers precisely.

What is the default, feels like 75 or 80?

Default is 75. At least in the options menu.

what... 90 is the absolute lowest FOV in the game, with the slider adding between 0 and 20 to that.

So skulk would be 125 with the slider maxed.

Why is the default FOV(90) so low?

So you can up it with the bar (lol bar adjuster)?

If that's true dragon, and it adds 20, that means marine is 110 fov maxed. I'm actually very happy with that is that's what I use in ql.

Do people really think 90 FOV is low? Am I crazy? (probably)... 90 was always considered one of the best average FOV (widescreen and 4:3 cropping withheld).. What kind of FOV would people want in this game lol.. anything too high and you loose much of your ranged accuracy as marines, and at a certain point it does give a stupid advantage to aliens if your not effected by really high settings, so I dont think 125 as a skulk is anything bad...

I wouldn't say 90 is the lowest you could ever play with, iirc 75 is probably about that. But I still think 90 is low, the highest I think there is that's still usable is 140. 110 is the perfect middle ground for me, I could maybe push it up or down by 10.

Oh boy, you should try the console ports that come to PCs these days :)

*remembers The Darkness II's pre patch default hardcoded FOV of 45..*

OH! Is that that game where you play as someone suffering from tunnel vision?

Well i dont really play that much fps games anymore, so it's purely comparing ns1 to ns2. After playing with default fov for quite a long time before i came to my senses and increased it, it was purely a horrible to hit anything as alien. But once i put it to max(via slider in options)i've had zero problems anymore. In my mind the default setting should be the thing that should be used, instead of it being harder for you. But i'm not really sure how it affects everyone else so it's just my personal experience.
