Hi , when i messing around with game folder Natural Selection2/builds , i can see many .zip files with name like this " build_227 ....to build_251"

So i wonder if i extract these file into main game folder , would my game become "downgrade patch" ? I just want to play old builds to try things out :D

For example if i extract .zip files "build_249" into NS2 game folder and launch steam ,will NS2 become from 251 into 249 patch version ?

Thank you and hope gane dev answer my naughty question :))

TBH i dont think so, because they are just 2 mb in size, mostly LUA code changes. No art assets etc
Its great for referencing old balance values in lua etc. though.

You can make a mod and then in the "modinfo" file you can add build = 249 and it will attempt to mount build 249. Though with code changes it sometimes doesn't work. And I doesn't seem to actually so anything.

I think UWE should realese "old patch" manual download link for players can try and compare with latest build , they will stop complain and understand your hard work

If you are curious about b249 specifically, there is a b249 mod out there. A few servers run it.
