hang on first launch

When I first launch the site [www.unknownworlds.com/ns2] after starting up my computer, my entire browser [Chrome] hangs for about 20-30 seconds. Is anyone else seeing this? It happens every time I start up my computer, but only the one time once it's been started up. closing and reopening Chrome doesn't cause it.

    Yeah, it's definitely starting something big, maybe Flash 

    Specific other websites have caused it for me, but not with as much consistency; I'd guess it was caused by ads those particular sites had.

    Adobe Flash, oh how much do I hate thee! What does it show on the "lacking" status indicator at the bottom right? Might be able to narrow it down. I've had some issues with statcounter for instance, causing some loading issues and UWE used it on the previous site version, I think...
