Tried it out for a bit, and I'll be honest, I can't really tell the difference, except for a dimmer display and color. I suppose I never had much motion blur to begin with, or I'm just not perceptible to motion blur as most people.

Will keep it on for a week or so, then switch back to the default settings. If I notice the change then, maybe I will know for sure.

I ran this reg file and I wanna reverse it. The only thing it did was screwing up my colors. Does anyone know how to?

You didn't back up your registry beforehand? -_-

Try a windows recovery, maybe it will also revert changes to your registry.

I want to like this lightboost but I'm looking to see if anyone has some good settings either in the nvidia control panel or the monitor that keep the brightness up to a good level. I'm using a GTX 660 and an ASUS VG248QE monitor. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313)

Everything is too dark and I've tried up'ing the gama and brightness, but it seems to get washed out and looks almost worse. I also don't know if it's actually helping me or not.

VG248 is known to have a purplish tint in lightboost. But you can try those settings i found somewhere:

nVidia Control Panel Desktop Brightness = 52
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Contrast = 45
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Gamma = 0.70

    --or--

nVidia Control Panel Desktop Brightness = 50
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Contrast = 47
nVidia Control Panel Desktop Gamma = 0.85

By the way dont put the lightboost settings to 100% try to lower it as much as you can.

@Side1Bu2Rnz9, I've applied the color profile (.icm) and tweak at this post:
    http://www.overclock.net/t/1331478/new-asus-vg248qe-144hz-1ms-tn-1080p/1080#post_19515743

I've tried a number of tweaks, but this calibration seems to be the best for me with regards to colors. However, I think it might still be too dark for your liking with lightboost enabled. I'm light sensitive, so I prefer a slightly dimmer display, so this worked really well for me.

Are you using the Strobelight program? If I remember correctly it has a strobe brightness setting if you right click on the icon in the taskbar. I think the default is set to about 50%.

@Zalamael yeah i am using the Strobelight program and it's just too dark and almost grainy looking for me... idk I almost prefer just using my 144Hz with no lightboost. I seem to play better with no lightboost but that could just be because i'm use to playing without it.

Yeah, truth be told I don't notice much difference with it on or off, but that might be because my monitor has a 1ms response time, so I hardly notice ghosting (unlike my laptop screen which is 60Hz and suffers from a lot of ghosting).

I reverted my 144hz asus back to stock settings. The lightboost didn't do enough for me to justify the darker settings.

I seem to have got used to the darker settings and now find it WAY too bright without lightboost. Kinda bonkers that. 144Hz is nice for sure, I might have to go back to that to see if I can still tell the difference. I could when I first played about with it all, hence sticking with lightboost for a while now at 120Hz...

it's pretty amazing i don't think i could ever go back to not using it

lower response time or 144hz doesn't have much on no motion blur which is a Big Deal!!!!!

anyone finds any good monitor profiles HIT A BROTHA UP

also adjusting those values in the NVIDIA control panel doesn't work in my games for some reason it only affects the desktop WHy

@Gliss, look at my post above to see a color profile for the Asus VG248QE.
