Hi,

we all saw axe kills. They are nice.

We all saw rifle butt kills. They are fun.

We all saw parasite kills. They are awesome.

... And I want to see glorious, hilarious, BELLY SLIDE KILLS!

Just let the belly slide work the same way it does - but add 1-5 points of damage to the front. It wont change game balance, but create some very special and funny moments!

It wont be much work to do.

Just some lua magic and this icon (maybe someone can make it more pretty):

You should be able to kill someone by throwing weapons at them as well.

There should be all sorts of things throughout the game that do exactly 1 damage. I've always thought it was weird how extractors explode violently, but don't do any damage.

This would be funny as hell. A low health marine just toppling over as a gorge sweeps him off his feet with a bellyslide. :P

I suggest that a running marine that bumps an alien does 1 damage!

This reminds me of Brink's sliding move (Brink uses a parcours-like movement system...in the end pretty much the only aspect of the game that was fun).
That said, I would love more parcours-style movement for the Marines...more flexibility.

This idea is a cute one!

And like already mentioned before, we need LEAP to inflict damage when jumping into a marine. I would suggest 10 damage for LEAP.

Gorge's aren't that big... We'd require Onos Bellyslide technology to be researched for this to be viable!

I'd like for there to be falling damage, in general.

That is, if a marine falls too far they take damage.
If a unit lands on another unit, one or both takes damage.

Basically, I want to be able to "Goomba" skulks.

Hrmmmm....

1) Allow gorge to deal million damage if it touches something while belly-sliding.

2) Allow infinite belly-slide (ie. you slide until you manually stop it)

3) Create a map filled with marine buildings and marine bots that run in circles or from side to side.

4) Gorge that gets most points win

Optional) Allow friendly fire

...

Profit!

i miss devour. I used a sprite replacement that was Goatse.

Devour was terrible. But fun, if you were the onos.
And arguably necessary in NS1 versus Heavies and Jet Packers.

If not damage... knock down perhaps? Only, make it so only ONE player can be knocked down at a time. I don't think any damage needs to be added to it IMO
