I dont believe any weapon does more damage if you hit someone in a certain place.

Best way to use this is to leap near marine and then switch weapon to bite and kill him.

i use leap to get away from marines coz they cant aim when you are leaping up the walls and stuff

Hell yes, me too. Leap and Blink are excellent for hit-run-and-heal.

supposedly leap works the same way as charge, the longer you are touching them while leaping, the more damage you do. Except for two laggy instances where i've gotten "stuck" on marines in mid-leap and killed them in a few seconds, i haven't seen any evidence to this

Otherwise, leap does a straight 16 damage. It's major use is closing the distance between you and your enemy, or fleeing, OR for easy access to ceilings or other places. It's a mobility weapon, and in many games, mobility is king.

As the last fellow said, it works much like charge. It's damage is 4 per touch. So unless you have perfect aim and stay against the marine the entire duration of the attack, you won't kill him. And yes, if you get lucky and have the opportunity to leap onto their heads from above, it's a guaranteed kill.

okay first, leap does # of touches x 4. so that means you can touch the marine a maximum of 4 times. 4 x 4. 16. so you can really kill them unless you keep doing 16 damage to them.

Leap attack works like an onos charge, you do more damage the longer you touch them.

Therefore the way to do the most damage is to leap in the same direction as the marine is moving or better attack a stationary one. There is no cap on damage, its the number of 'touches' (in HL engine terms) x 4, there is no max or straight damage it does. Without testing I can't gave an 'average' amount of damage, but from using it i'd guess in the 25 - 40 range.

For getting around its great, and you can change direction in mid-leap. Just point in a different direction and press fire again. In theory it should be great for hit and runs, just leap in and out, but i've never used it like that so i'm not sure how effective it is.

A single leap followed by a bite will kill marines most of the time.

also im pretty sure that certain parts do more damage like head or body. i've gotten one hit kills sometimes from biting in the head while they were full health. i find its really useful for when theyre shooting at you and then you leap behind them and start chomping at them until they die, then as reinforcements arrive you just leap away

There is NO location specific damage in NS, at all. The marine you attacked most have been already damaged.

don't think so, i've seen it happen to other people as well. then afterward the marine was shouting "WTFx0Rz H3 K1ll3d3zd m3 1]\| 0)\(3 5/-[07"

that marine probably was lagged or whining when he really had low health so he wouldn't look stupid when he get killed by leap.

did some testing with fellow clanmates.

i had someone leap at me and only make a split second contact and i took four total damage to hp (i didn't bother with armor calculations because i didn't want the hassle).

I had him do a longer leap (while i was stationary, so it was about .5 seconds of contact) and i took around 20 damage to hp.

i then had him stand on my head so that his entire leap was touching me. my health dropped like a rock and i died about a second and a half later

yep, it works like charge, hehe. A leap from above on an unsuspecting marine is a guaranteed kill.
