Fixed tram, fixed sound volume, added model and sound source files. May be more but that's what I know. Enjoy.

Very few servers up and most kick you for running a different build, difficult to get in anywhere. Tons of new players trying to find a game right now, the timing could have been better but I really do not want to complain about getting patches. :P

hope the official servers (at least) are patching up... or tonight (in eu) we are not going to play (and it won't be a smart move with the steam sales - i can wait, but one new customer usually would like to play as soon as the game is ready :| )

Servers usually patch up pretty quickly, just gotta be patient for a couple of minutes or an hour max. But awesome to see there is an steam sale xD

Im not a 3d artist (and i guess also not really the guy you target with making such source files available), but since you gave out the files it got me interested to take look - maybe play a little around with it, learn a bit about this topic.

There is all this focus around mod-ability of ns2, but then you require ppl to use software like 3ds max? (not that its impossible to get access to this ~4000€ piece of software - you can go trough an annoying register process on the website to get a trial version for example)

Why dont you use formats that work well with software like blender?

(at least that little bit of googling i did said it wasnt possible to import .max files into blender)

Nice you got my annotation on Ore Processing, or someone else found the noclip hole as well. I'm not sure if it was transmitted because annotate gave me an error.

We don't require people to use 3D Studio MAX. We are working on making our tool chain support COLLADA files exported by any 3D content creation package. There are still some bugs but we've made some good improvements there in recent patches.

These files however are the original files that our artists authored. If we provided them in a standardized format that Blender could read (i.e. COLLADA), they would lose some information in the export process and wouldn't be as editable. Since our engine reads COLLADA files and not MAX files, we have all these assets exported as COLLADA, so we may choose to include these in the future.

Pretty much everyone knew about it, I found it about 10 minutes after the last patch and proceeded to show an entire server how to go lerk, fly to spectators and kill them. Or go gorge and spit down the command chair.

I don't know what patch it was, but my fps has almost doubled. Mind you this is on max settings from 30 fos to 60+ fps its still great.

Sounds like you were playing on a modded server, 1st person spec is not in yet.

I got a HUGE problem with the snowball addition!!!! >:(
It's just too much fun! sometimes games just do not start because there are 10 people sitting in the RR and having a snowballwar.
Well, but that's a clever way to deliver the demand of an extended pregame =D
  • CsaeCsae Join Date: 2012-11-17 Member: 172145Members
    Lol.

Fun fact, on a tall RR, you can throw a snowball straight up and have it bounce off your face.... or throw two and watch them collide mid air.

This holiday christmas 40% off deal really got the Rookie-juices flowing, they're taking over and games last one hour on average :D
