r/ns2 Team Tournament #1

Hey everyone. This is [C.H.U.D.] from the r/ns2 steamgroup. This Saturday the 15th at 7pm EST we will be hosting a team tournament.

Mumble information will be provided.

The teams will be 6 players each. It will be best of 3 single elimination and the finals will be best of 5. This for team sign ups. Anyone is welcome to join. Just form a team and sign up on our <a href="http://battlefy.com/chud/112/rns2-team-tournament-1/#/info" target="_blank">Battlefy</a> link.

Each Tier of the tournament will be played on set maps. Tier 1 is Docking. Tier 2 is Summit. Tier 3 is Tram. The first 2 games are played on the Tier map and the third will be the tiebreaker map Veil. For the third and final Tier we will play 2 rounds on Tram alternating the sides between games and then two on Veil with the third tiebreaker on Tram again.

To pick sides the team captains will just run in random and that will be it. Play a round and then switch sides. For the tiebreaker we will do one more random to pick the sides.

For the finals, since it is best of 5, we will do 3 random team picks. First one will be for the first round of Tram games and then again when we go to Veil for two games and then the third when/if we get to a final Tram game.

Again, anyone is welcome to join but expect this to be a bit more competitive than our casual sign ups tournaments. Just have fun and keep it friendly. Any unsportsmanlike conduct won't be tolerated. We are being streamed and would like to keep it classy. Monocles on and pinkies out.

On the day of the event show up in our steam group chat about an hour before we start. The mumble information is on our discussions page. we'll get it all organized and work out any last minute details.

    Is this a US or EU tournament?

    I dont think docking is a good map.

    Also, some more info would be nice, like server rules

    Heya Scrajm. I was asleep when you popped into chat. Our tourneys are mostly NA atm. It's been too much to try and include our west coast and EU people. We are working out details for EU events but at the moment we don't have the servers to really pull anything off. Once we get at least one new server we can start hosting pugs and maybe smaller tournaments.

    Servers for tournaments are not a problem. There are plenty of teams who can and will provide (high quality) servers for such events.

    I haven't spoken with server owners yet. Don't know the EU community to well. Feel free to send me a PM with their steam so I can get in touch with them. We're more than happy to organize some EU tournaments we just need the resources.

    Well what I'm trying to say is that the resources are there, you don't need to worry about it. All the "big" EU teams have their own servers and share them freely. If a tournament is hosted, servers will be available to play on; no need to organize anything.

    If you require any extra US servers, the nexzil privets are pretty open to being used for any events or matches. Just a heads up.

    We should have 4 servers to use for the event. Thanks for the offer though. I'll get in contact with you if we need to borrow one.
