Remake / Reimagining.
After losing my HDD and everything I had done towards my previous map I decided to completely ditch serva and move onto remaking Hera, at the moment I'm just working out the theme and almost everything at this point is subject to change but I just wanted to throw this out and see what people think for the moment. Also I talked with merkaba and he suggested that I don't do a complete remake and try to make the map more 'my own' and I've tried to do that.Anyway it's just a few screenshots, still working on the theme and lighting (thanks remedy btw).




Everything is still W.I.P. and is likely to change as I work out the layout.

Now that marines need a second techpoint to get their advanced tech, do you think the original layout (on any old ns1 map) could be a problem? ( I guess marines used to occupy a hive in ns1 anyway in most cases so maybe not an issue now that i think about it).

Splitting up armor, for armor level readability and greater customization
Looks amazing already. Putting your own spin on things is great, People love the old but love shiny new things too.
It already has that familar feel but everythings new again. Keep it up.

I know it looks a bit dark but these are just editor shots and as such it looks slightly darker than in-game. I'll post some in-game shots when I've completed the marine spawn.

Yeah I know, there are a few changes that are going to happen to the layout but they are unavoidable.
That's one of the few things I'm trying to get right, since the original Hera has quite a few stand out and unique areas (In my opinion) compared to most ns1 maps, it's going to be a bit of a challenge to stick to that while changing the layout and theme.

That's exactly what I was aiming for, I've changed the theme a slight bit and updated the lighting.
For the moment I'm still trying to sort out the visual style.
I can help you with the sky box textures if needed.
PS. I recommend using Dropbox for file backups, very handy!

Reception is the one area I am honestly looking forward to building, that and Data Core Delta. Maintenance and maintenance corridor I'm going to try and keep to it's original look and feel.
This map needs to be finished by tomorrow, possibly today if possible.

I wish, kinda of had to stop for a little while due to personal issues but I'm getting back into it and should have a grey boxed version out at least on steamworks soon, though the layout will have changed ever so slightly and I'm still tweaking the theme a little at the moment trying not to have it look too much like docking.

It's worth sitting at the menu screen on Doom 3 just to hear that full song alone, and I'll possibly be doing a video preview at some point or another.
