    Very Bioshock-like. Cool.

    Hey guys!

I got a big problem here. I am working on the new Marine Start for this map and created it in a seperate map file then our actual ns2_rigging file. Now i am trying to copy+paste the Marine start into the other map file, but the editor is crashing every time i try to save it!

Here is what the (full) log says:

I dont get it that my video card is running out of memory, because i could expand the actual map file as much as i want to and it wont crash.

The editor also crashes when i just try only to copy + paste my geometry first, then entitys and then props.

So i worked at my Marine start for so many hours and i cant include it to our map.

is that just a bug, or would it help to ask a friend with a more powerful machine if i can install ns2 and copy+paste it at his place?
Someone got a similar issue and worked his way around it?

    Thanks for every suggestion!

ok i managed to get the whole geometry into the actual map file, all entitys, and some of the props.

i can create hundreds of more props and save it and im not running out of video memory, but i cant copy and paste many props properly. with some props i am able to copy dozents of them, and with others i am not able to copy just one!

Ok our map is getting too big, on a friends pc a was able to continue mapping and he got 8gb ram, we only got 4gb

hope its just memory and not a new video card we need.

The editor can begin to chug if you have too much being rendered at one time. Try just disabling some layers to hide some of your map and only keep visible the section you are currently working on.

    Thanks for responding!

But we work with layers all the time to get more frames.

The editor crashes when i try to save the map and the log file says that i run out of video memory and ram.

so if we wont buy more ram (or graphic card) we cant continue working on this map

there is an option in the editor settings to lower the texture quality, you can try that, otherwise id say you may need to upgrade ur comp.

Overall not looking too bad, just your lighting seems off, some areas are rather bland while some of the lighting is rather odd. Really like the marine start, looks great.

I hope you guys can get this finished regardless of the hardware problems. Damn this map is going to look nice. Some places that could use a few finishing touches but overall an extremely sexy map.

Any new updates? Any chance of giving this a beta run?

    Hey guys!

Thanks for the responses :) its nice to see that some people care for this map, due to all the work we already put in!

since uwe changed the way light renders in the editor we were able to continue working on this map, so this project is not dead.
nevertheless we took a break due to studies and i wanted to finish a smaller older project <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=113611&st=0" target="_blank">pg_lunacy</a> for the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=116252&st=120&start=120" target="_blank">proving grounds mod</a>

i hope to finish Lunacy soon, so i can work on Rigging again.

We already put hundred of hours into Rigging, we will finish this, its just a matter of time

hope to upload some new screenshots soon!

Nice job, I can see that you've really come along since the earlier screenshots, the latest screenshots show how much work you've put into this map.
