I KNEW IT. You haven't an idea how much grief that twitchy entity-destroying mechanism has given me, I marked it down as being part of some optimized memory-management system introduced a few builds back.

Patch is good, like some of the changes, but my fps has dropped and I get stutter chops now - hopefully a quickfix can fix this - keep up the good work though !

Oh crap, I got bombarded with script errors for spawning 2 bots in a listen server (before game start) and somehow the Hive disappeared after the 15 seconds countdown but an egg remained intact (I also did not get teleported to the new Hive location?)

Hahahaha... I don't know if this happens in online games... but if you go up a ladder as an Onos you can now fly. Try it!

Edit: Huh... I can't seem to repeat it. I'll keep trying, maybe it was an anomaly.

Yeah... I rarely have issues with patch notes but this is just confusing. It's such an old and outdated aspect ratio.

This was not a bug. It was simply how the system worked before. But OnDestroy being called immediately is more natural and will lead to less bugs overall we believe.

I can finally see the servers again. I disabled Comodo Firewall today or yesterday. Somehow it was still blocking the connection.

I -think- they made it so that those with wider aspect ratios will have a larger field of view, instead of those of us still not using wide-screens were having less. That's my guess, atleast.

I still have quite a difficult time finding servers with tick rates higher than 10, below which the game is not particularly fun to play. There are a handful of servers that run quite well, but finding one with open slots and a decent ping is a real challenge. I hope that fixing this is still the top priority. Strangely it seems like every server either hovers around 10 or stays above 20, with almost nothing in the middle, which makes me wonder if it's more an on/off bug than just a performance problem.

Yes you are missing something. If you are playing at 4:3 you will see exactly the same thing you saw in Build 194. If you are playing at 16:9 you will be see more horizontally than you saw in Build 194. The change message means that the FOVs are designed around 4:3 aspect ratio, so at 4:3 the Marines will see 90 degrees.

If I'm not mistaken, source games work like that (based on 4:3). The good part is that those with 16:9 get around 106 fov.

I'm sitting on a 27" 16:9 monitor and I get lost trying to bite people.

Fov is probably more of a resource in this game than many other FPS games. Consider a skulk biting in close quarter combat, or a marine building while keeping an eye out. I don't think 4:3 90 fov makes the cut any more. I also do not think 4:3 monitors are the majority any more.

However I will admit, I may be missing your point altogether. Perhaps you can elaborate?
