NET_SendPacket ERROR: Operation not permitted

I'm getting "NET_SendPacket ERROR: Operation not permitted" spamming the console after the server tries to contact Natural-Selection.org. I know its a ports issue and it can't be a ports issue related to HLDS itself because the box hosts other servers (SRCDS) and they dont have this problem.

It seems to be related to the icon display for developers, constellation members, etc. What port does it try to communicate on to retrieve this information?

I'm not sure, but I would have thought that Natural Selection may use Half-Life's built-in network communications code meaning it would use the same ports the engine uses.
Do you still get the error if you disable the scoreboard icons?

A bit of Googling suggested that even if the port is forwarded, the port might still be blocked by the operating system itself. Could that be the case?

Is N-s.org still in operation? Last time I saw that domain in use was before the great forums outage.

Is there not an NS.com replacement for the constie icons?

Looks like it redirects to the Unknown Worlds website.

Are all of the appropriate ports listed <a href="https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711" target="_blank">here</a> open?

Yeah all the needed server ports are open.

It looks like it might not be an NS problem after all as i tried to put up a TFC server and it started doing it there too; So i posted what's happening on the hlds_linux mailing list.

Good idea. They should know what they're talking about. Hope you get it solved anyway.
