    Even if I drive to work now in order to compete at this stupid E-penis comparison I doubt that speedtest.net will register 1GB/s correctly.

    Local networks don't count. I can do the same kinda of test inside our data center in Houston.

    lols, I wouldn't really consider that you're "internet speed", more or less bandwidth available. It's nice being able to download 200 things at once at 5+ mb/s but you will never get 1Gig a sec from any source you connect to. FYI, your computer would spend more time writing that much data than it would downloading it. I also have yet to see an "off the shelf" network card get over 100 Mbps.

    anyway, the real deal was a screenshot of a marine in black armor waving to the audience on a server, iirc .-)


    that means, that the "thick- and long-issue" of the respective connections is just one small part.  as they use to say, "it isn't the size, it's the technique" :-)

    so, and now i go to bed, have fun waiting for steam to open, to sort out your noble deed of who might be called the first of beta.

    I'm pretty sure NS2 will auto-update for you in Steam. You own't have to wait long afaik
