** Thank You for all the name suggestions I have had so far, They are all noted and something will be chosen at at later date **

The level has the impression of a top side and downside as if your going deeper and deeper under ground... the highest tech point with skylight views of landing pads and industry.
The level windes down through cargo transit systems and cave systems untill you hit the bottom (not literally considering the game mechanics for commander view) where there will be lava and drilling and all that pretty orange stuff :) .

I have never put a video together before or used Youtube but I manage to pull summut off..

Barlow your map is looking gorgeous. Love the design and you are absolutely pro with the rock props. How far along are you in the grand scheme?

Give it a greek god name just like a hundred other maps .. lol. Like, Nyx or Rhea.

But seriously, I hope for you it will be at least near playable because there's a lot more work than my map in there and it looks really good.

    ;)

Thanks Cyanide, Currently there are 2 Tech areas complete with a connecting back route only at the moment, the Video shows about 30% and thats how much is done :/
Progress is very slow cause the editor is basicly dead while the map is open even though stuff is hidden VIA the layers...

I love the "used" look you give to your map Cyanide its ace. I like the way you place props in your level.

Thank you! I myself am hovering right around 25-30% complete as well. I'm finding myself able to pick up steam a bit and press forward quicker though lately. I think the inspiration is just coming on faster and things are clicking better.

Is your map a 6 or 5 tech point map? I really can't wait to play yours. And I'm optimistic we'll be able to get our maps into v1.0 before NS2's release at this rate which appears to be more around Fall than anything.

I make things up as I go along lol :D , Sure I am going for 5 tech points like 5 on a dice then the central point is majour control point.
Other than that I let things flow naturally, I let the props and texturs decifer the shape and size of rooms, I choose a prop or texture and make something of it and build around it and it just comes together, I dont know if you lot are but I am certainly taking it slow on purpose because of some of the props I think we might be getting down the line.

Most impressive map you have there! I really like how it feels open, yet it is very cluttered so it feels lived in and doesn't have much empty space. I'll look forward to playtesting this along with Cyanide's map. :D

Wow you actually have the guts to use a very boring textures for a floor and actually are able to pull it off with the other detail in the area!

    <a href="http://www.unitedworlds.co.uk/online-gaming/ns2_map07.jpg" target="_blank">lower right shot here</a>

I love the "lived in" or "janitor was here" feeling you've got going! I'm terrible with names, cannot help you there sir!

That looks absolutely stunning. That walkthrough video really conveyed a nice feel for the map as well.I did spot some outdoor scenery through a window; what's the setting?

Since it seems related to some mining operation; why not give it a name related to some element on the periodic table?

    ns_beryllium
    ns_rhodium
    ns_iridium
    etc.

Or give it the name of a scenario setting, like

    ns_confinement
    ns_excavation
    ns_encounter
    etc.

Wow, amazing work there sgtbarlow, just wow. Now I'm starting to hate my cramped hallways and rooms :S

    Names:
    ns_Lechuguilla_Cave
    ns_Miller
    ns_Sulfide
    ns_Anchihaline_cave
    ns_Fracture_cave
    ns_Glacier_cave

Sorry for all of those "cave" but I'm in a hurry and couldn't think anything else atm. Maybe mine or pit could be better.

Cool, Thank you everyone for the feedback.

    <u>Psyke</u>
Later down the line the time will come for sure, there are issues that need to be resolved with the rocks Physics Wireframe as some of them are buggy, There are a lot of things to get stuck to or are impassible. The tunnel in the video is impassible, thats why I didnt run through it so you only saw half the cave and why I only ran half way up the staricases. so I was unable to run round in the areas between the tunnel and the stairways :(

    <u>Delphic</u>
Good to see you, look forward to the good old days returning once again.
Also your Forum Inbox is full. :)

    <u>tankefugl</u>
Good angle of thought on ideas for naming.
The higher points of the level have skylight views out to the only current skybox we have, I am subject to change that 50/50 depending on what comes but the main goal is industrial outside for sure or if not a skybox that looks like a facility with landing pads and cargo docks poking out the side of a mountain in some marshan landscape.
If you noticed a bit of skybox in The Caves thats gone now I just done that exposed corner.

    File: ns_corebound
Full Name & Signage: Alterra Deep Core Extraction East
