Ensl - European Ns League

Here we go
We're proud to announce the opening of the European NS League (ENSL). After some weeks of website design and coding, partners gathering and rules edition, we've finally come to the point we're ready to launch the whole thing and get started with hot action. Take a seat, it's gonna take long to read everything.

The ENSL is an european league which applies an important rule: a match is not only supposed to make 12 players enjoy a game; it's also meant to be enjoyed by other people watching it. This league is oriented towards spectators and provides many ways to make any casual or competitive player come and enjoy a great match of NS.
This league is also designed to make any clan, from the new clan coming from a pub to the old competitive team, play and enjoy being part of the league. Whatever the level your clan has, you will be playing against clans which have about the same level, since clans are being put in divisions (same as a football/soccer league for instance). You just have to be able to play one match per week.

Everything is lead by a staff of 4 admins: Mike, Roly, b1 and Naxo. While some of these names might sound unknown to you, all of these people have a great experience in competitive play. We played in almost every league and cup, and we will even play in that one. Therefore, we know what a player wants in a league, and we saw the problems that happened in some leagues before. It's not another random league done by another random powerhunger; it's a league done by players because we want such a league to happen and we want to play in it.

The leagues features a website, which is one of the most complete league website you've probably seen. While, in the preseason, you see nothing but your clan sheet, you'll see alot of things appear when the season begins. Match prediction system (with a predictor ranking), handy division pages with the list of every match; challenge system and agenda; complete match sheets featuring lineups, demos, comments, and if a referee was on your match, a match report and a man of the match. Everything is a link to another thing, you can click on one of the player on the lineup to get on his page, then see all the matches he played in, and the clans he joined/left during last season. The point is - all of this is quite handy and easy to navigate in.

Every match (yes, every) has a HLTV, which records a demo and supports as many players as necessary. You can download the demo afterwards on the match sheet. Say hello to HLTV-Fr, our all-time partner!

Every week, there will be one big match that will feature an english shoutcast, written predictions by famous players, a detailled match report, and of course a HLTV. Consider this as your weekly hot NS rendez-vous. And thanks to NetG Radio for providing us the shoutcast stream.

Surftown, once again supporting the community, provided us 2 servers located in Denmark, which usually give almost-even pings in western vs scandinavian europe.

The league is in bs1, just because most of the european clans want it. No need to discuss it with us admins, we're just following the general trend. This could change in another season if the trend changes, though.

As you probably noticed, a lot of leagues get too much clan drops, that kinda spoils the thing. ENSL runs short seasons; for instance, season 1 will take 5 weeks. That explains why we launch this "before summer": it's gonna end on the 19th of June (+ the great finale right after), which is still before summer. Chances are we'll get a bit less clan drops in such a short timespan.

This season is a kind of "test season". Whatever we call it, it's obviously a season during which we'll see if some of our choices are valid, and we'll adapt things in consequences. The website has been reworked on many parts, so bugs are also possible. You're free to discuss everything on our forum.

As a sidenote, our US fellows won't be able to participate during the first season (there's already alot of things we need to tweak, adding US teams would complicate things) but they will be able to do so from season 2, like euro clans do in CAL.

Definitely wanna sign up to this.

    Good work

    =)

    [EDIT]

A quick read of the rules, and I'm glad to see sensible rounds (i.e. 4, not 2 and then a single tie-breaker); but I'm not a fan of:

    a minimum of cl_cmdrate 50

    and

    sv_minupdaterate 50

I recently lowered my cmd/up rates from 60 to 40; and have never heard anyone complain about my reg.

Good luck Naxo. The short seasons and the providing of hltv should help to make this a success.

Shouldn't be much of an issue playing in an EU league against mostly europeans. Just switch back and forth for matches.

Just for the record (this isn't to spiral the thread into scripting debate) all european leagues have always been blockcripts 1, it would be peculiar for this to be different.

Why bother quoting then? considering its neither the time nor place, this is exactly what detracts from the topic. Those trying to be prim and proper when its not needed.

Anyway, gonna hve to kick the clan into gear, now we have a Euro league again Thanks for your time and effort guys and best of luck, GGNC are behind you.
