<div class="IPBDescription">(And shameless self-promotion to non-staff!)</div>I am here to ask for sponsorship for a LAN event. The Information Technology Club (ITC) of St. Clair College Windsor, Ontario presents our annual 100-man(NOW 200-MAN!) LAN, No Man's LAN 5! It is the largest LAN in Windsor and the Great Lakes region! It is an event where gamers get together and compete for prizes, have a meal, learn a few things about networking, check out each others gear, and generally have a good time.

This years No Man's LAN is very important, as it is our 5th anniversary of the LAN. We are hoping for your support so we can make this our best LAN yet!

If Unknown worlds would be willing to sponsor the LAN with game keys or perhapse some concept art to frame, we would be willing to schedule in an NS1 tournament (assuming the playable Beta isn't out by then), and could print off some Unknown Worlds or NS2 pictures to post around the LAN and raise awareness of the game. Although frankly I'm so into it that I'm probably going to do that anyway, a sponsorship would get alot of people interested who likely have never heard of the game before!

Cool, so they will sponsor you with what money?

two or three codes shouldnt hurt, but there's the next guy wanting to ask coming round the corner already.
then again, concepts are usualy ultra high resolution and meant to hang on the wall anyway, and there are some cheap poster printers online... ;)

…of course, the final concept art for a female marine might raise the most awareness. even if its raepd into an ancient "support our troops!" poster.

When ns2 is done, they could give out keys for time.... like the free weekends on steam.... say give some big lan 100 Keys for a week or two.
So the players get hooked to the game :P

Yep that's definitely the dream. I've always said that if WoW gave the world one free month per year they'd double their profits, but such things wouldn't work for a game that doesn't even have a playable Beta. So I suggested some concept art or game keys just because they're available and don't really cost anything to the devs.

Sadly we're in the final week before the event so it looks like there might not be enough time if it were concept art. We've already got specially funded events Shattered Horizon and Heroes of Newerth funded by the creators of the games themselves, and I thought NS would be a great addition to that. So incase you missed it, this is also "shameless self-promotion" so if anyone is in the Great Lakes region of Canada / USA, we'd love to see you!

Good luck with this, but I think you would be better off directly contacting these guys rather than with a post on here...

So true... ;) Those who think UW is in a position to print up money to sponsor some event, don't know where UW stands at for the moment. First they gotta buy the printer, and they can't even afford that. I suggest you ask someone with money =).

Heh, Not surprised Ferren posted here. In case anyone is interested, the LAN was a blast: We had over 150 people, and everyone had a great time.

Also, to answer the question of "how would they sponsor you?", We weren't/aren't looking for money. Swag prizes, preorder keys, that kind of stuff is what we were shooting for. (I'm another administrator for the event)
