It is now against FIOS Acceptable Use Policy to post off-topic posts on message boards.

How the hell would they moderate this.

Better yet, why?

That's a pretty off topic message. You might get banned.

Posting off-topic in off-topic is on-topic and therefore doesn't violate the terms of that AUP.

I want someone to get kicked off their service now, just so they can counter-claim and use this line in court.

Also, what is a FIOS.

It is a clause so that they can boot spammers from their service when they get complaints.

And FIOS == American Fiber internets from verizon. It's cheap and fast.

100 dollars per month is cheap?

Seems more like a pretty standard price... Also to be able to check up on their users, would this mean they will disregard any privacy laws?

That's for internet TV and Phone. Around here it is normal prices (painful, ain't it?)

However just the internet is generally cheaper than just cable internet, and is faster (based on adds). What the actual speeds are I have no clue, if you care you can check dslreports.com

Kouji:
The line is simply so that when Charlie goes "A person at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has been spamming my forum non stop with CP adds, please deal with it" they legally can.

How can this even be legal? If a phone company made it against the TOS to talk about certain things, they'd be laughed out of court.
• lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
Maybe somebody will take them to court over it and then we'll know if it's legal.

Maybe people that don't like it will realize Verizon is a joke to begin with.

I wish I had FIOS in my area. It may be just another megacorp, but it would be the lesser of two evils when faced with Comcast. I loathe the comcast monopoly on high-speed internet around here.

I wonder if anyone has actually been banned based on this fine print.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Jones, but we're going to have to revoke your internet service. User 'm4s73rCh1eF_666' was quoted as saying 'l2p u assclown' on the Halo forums, and it came from your IP address."

"Yeah well the little ###### deserved it, I regret nothing!"

Even if the thing was put in there to make it easier to get spammers, wouldn't it still technically apply to anyone if someone else made a complaint?

Like if someone on that service said something off topic, and I sent a complaint to the company, on what grounds could they refuse to take action?

FACT:
The very last man to be killed during construction of the Hover Dam died 13 years to the day after the very first man to be killed on the project, who was his father.
