crash on startup

I just got round to reinstalling NS, and i eagerly started it up. It went to the main menu fine and i immediatly changed the horrid resolution to widescreen 1680x1050. I clicked apply and it crashed. I tried to start it up again, but all i got was a black screen and some repeating sound in the background. I tried reinstalling it and this still happened. Has this happened to anyone else? and if so how do you fix it? I'm running Vista 64-bit. If any additional information is needed i can provide a DxDiag.

    delete your config.cfg

    that should reset your res.

(a reinstall doesn't necessarily do so unless you actually delete your ns folder)

Alternatively you could add -w 1024 -h 768 to the shortcut command line.

This would force the engine to start with a resolution of 1024 x768

And that would be smarter, but I am lazy and never remember the commands :P
