ahh, memories.
Those screams were in CSS zombie mod servers, beautiful. And you want them as marine death sounds? I would think a zombie is coming not a marine dying.

Any of those would be sweet for a marine fall-death sound.

By the way that long scream sound was in Half life 2 (fast zombie), if anyone played.

I would love if they actually had alien deaths sounds like really noticable, and especially if a skulk leaps at you and you shoot it and then slam hits the wall from the momentum and you hear its bones crack

Yay! Thanks. I finally found out I'm not crazy!

I kept hearing that scream over and over in TV and Movies and asking friends/family "Have you heard that scream before?". All I got was weird looks.

After some time I realized that my original sighting was in Starcraft when you selected the Terran Academy building. Still I had no idea how to check if the sound was famous in the internets.

:)

You made my day!

It's a cost-effecitve way of improving ns2 and I think it would add a lot to the game. I would personally like to see voice sets for the marines (think tribes 2) in which each player can choose his or her voice set for conveying particular messages.

For example a 'cowgirl' voice set would be a female voice set with a lot of personality. Perhaps her way of saying "I'm on it" would be "Yeeehawwww!!!" and her way of saying "I'm waiting for orders" would be "What's the hold up!?" Her taunt would be, "Break out the ketchup, boys. We're eating good tonight!"

A 'joker' voice set would be a male with a jovial personality cracking a lot of jokes sort of thing. So to say "I'm on it", he'd probably say "Totally there!" To say "I'm waiting for orders", he'd say "Could ya hurry it up, here? My foot's fallin' asleep!" His taunt would be, "Phew! Did somebody die in here or is it just you?"

A 'tank' voice set would be a male with a deep voice (for some reason Michael Clarke Duncan comes to mind). "I'm on it" would be "Lets move!" and "I'm waiting for orders" would be, "Orders?" His taunt would be, "Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun."

Developers, if you like this idea, I'm sure I could organize a list of things to say for each voiceset and a group of volunteers to do the voices to be used in the game (with your approval of course). Let me know if you're interested.

Oo. I like that idea. They did mention customisation e.g. hairstyles, skin tone, facial features, 'scar decals', marine armours/helmets, etc. That would be a nice addition to the concept. Seems like quite a bit of work for an initial version, though. I can see the whole customisation thing being part of an update.
