<div class="IPBDescription">Ever taken it?</div>I'm probably late to the party but I just took the Bartle Test for Gamer Psychology. It has been criticised for being A.) too dichotomous(black and white) and B.) too MMO focused, but I found it interesting and wonder how other NS players will score. I'm guessing K and A will be a lot higher in general.

I'm more of an fps person...
That was frustrating because there was no shotgun option and it didn't even mention the ak47 vs m16 argument.

and to all those questions about social stuff, you know your friends have guns and knives right behind your neck, and they're staring at your head

Its extremely focused on MMOs, so I just ran with it and applied the test to my MMO experience instead of my NS experience. I got:

Basically, I think exploration and killing is more fun than grinding, which is essentially why I don't play MMORPGs! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

If I did I'd probably rather go about in a tight-knit group of 2-4 and go monster-hunting rather than PvP.

Horrible, horrible test. Whoever did that should get expelled from whatever they study, if they've reached or are capable of reaching university level studies. Or fired otherwise. Horrible.

    Edit: oh right, E: 60% A: 60% K: 53% S: 27%

It's not really a MMo oriented one as much as the abstraction of placing pen-and-paper stuff onto the MMO template since everyone nowadays plays MMOs.

I mean, since when has finding the fastest route between points A and B ever been an issue?

Also, it internal server errored me before I finished.... =[

That certainly wasn't an issue in pen-and-paper games. "My team and I travel to the next city." "Ok, along the way you find one random encounter." That's about the extent of the pathfinding there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

In MMOs pathfinding isn't exactly the most pressing issue, but it does come up from time to time -- and the more massively scaled the world is, the more it matters how you get from one place to another. If you don't have access to teleports, traveling from zone to zone in WoW can take excessively long amounts of time. But perhaps you can't teleport to where you want to go, but you can teleport somewhere else thats close to a shortcut to where you want to go, or something like that.
