Oh yea! Rock me sexy Jesus!
So, this film did really well at Sundance. Focus Features bought it for $10 Million.

I've asked a couple of my co-workers (I'm a manager/projectionist at a movie theater) what they think of the trailer. And everybody says it looks too stupid to watch. Me on the other hand, I think it looks hysterical. It's so blatently offensive that I can't help laugh.

Here's the trailer, tell me what you think.

If you are daring (And 17 years or older), here's the link to the red banded (R rated) trailer that I am expressly forbidden to attach to any film, regardless of it's rating, at work.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker are really good at showing the absurdity of Real Life. I was lukewarm on Team America when it came out(I saw it in the theaters), but lately I've been thinking about seeing it again. I'll watch the news or an action movie and something will come up and make me think of a scene and I'll chuckle to myself.

I imagine this movie will be the same, with a very belabored parody that's spot on if a bit obvious at times, interlaced with the most offensive things that either really shouldn't be offensive or are way over the top.

So yeah, kinda do want.

tough call right now, i cant tell if itll be more like team america or more like not another (insert movie genre). team america being the obvious better of the two since the others are terrible excuses for a parodies that do nothing but make me feel awkard inside and ashamed of the human race.

Trey and Matt appear to have nothing to do with this film, it's the third writer for South Park movie and Team America who has done this thing.

Did anyone else see the title and hope that it was a full length version of Arnie's Hamlet (was it Hamlet? Think so. Maybe MacBeth) you see a clip of in Last Action Hero? Because I did!

Also:

Steve Coogan! Yay!

Anyone who does not know who Alan Partridge is, look it up now.

No one can look at that and tell me it's not the greatest movie *ever*.

In a Quake 3 movie, Arnie Schwarzenegger would be Sarge.

I just hope it's not the kind of movie where the trailer shows all of the good parts.

The critics who saw it at Sundance seemed to like it. (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10009341-hamlet_2/)

So I doubt all the funny bits are in the trailer.

I saw the trailer in theaters and it got a chuckle at best. I can't say I laughed at it either.

Trailers for comedy films that involve even a hint of physical humour tend to suck immensely, because they just stick all of the "lol that was painful" moments into it and ignore everything else.

While hardly the best example, look at Dodgeball. The trailer just showed the geeky kid being hit by dodgeballs over and over, and that was pretty much it, whereas (for me) the humour in the film came from those stupid back-and-forths between Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller.

White Goodman: Go ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey... Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge. Quit now. Save yourself the embarrassment of losing with these losers in Las Vegas, La Fleur.
Peter La Fleur: Alliteration aside, I'll take my chances in the tournament.
White Goodman: Yeah, you will take your chances.
Peter La Fleur: I know. I just said that.
White Goodman: I know you just said that.
Peter La Fleur: Okay, I'm not sure where you're going with this.
White Goodman: Well, I'm not sure where *you're* going with this.
Peter La Fleur: That's what I said.
White Goodman: That's what I'm saying to *you*.
Peter La Fleur: All right.
White Goodman: ...TouchÈ.

....Like I said, not the best film or the best example, but highlights my point.
