Atmospheric Detail: Flashing & Destructible lights - Well light up room? Throw a gren in, or chop out the lights.. nice and dark for "surprise attacks" (flashing welding to light up the whole room)
    Can't remember but Source doesn't have dynamic lighting? So, maybe a light switch then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
(I think this was mentioned in the Dynamic Infest. preview)

Rooms with Red or Blue Lights, atmospheric additions

A Botanist lab, broken down/destroyed with dynamic infest'n crawling out of a tube...

Fog/Smoke machine style affects: Make Hive rooms more creepy if theres a broken vent that's created some fog around its base...

Comic Books and Other Reading material (perhaps promotional stuff for other UW games: eg. a computer screen, that's flashing static and losing sync, but occasionally shows 'Zen of Sodoku' on screen)

Cables that can bit bitten or cut to turn off a rotating Fan? ...and then re-welded to fix it.

Working Interactive environments that can be sabotaged or welded active/inactive... Lifts, Cargo Doors, Air Locks, etc

    Glass. Must have destructible glass...

    Moths around lights?

    <more later>

    moths defo cool idea!

If it hasnt already been suggested, where are the toilets in ns1. Ud expect a space station to have a loo on it some where, even cs maps have toilets so i recon sci fi toilet models are needed for ns2.

Also working smoke alarms would be quite cool, with sprinkler systems, but they cud be irritating, setting off sprinklers everytime a lerk sprays gas every where.

Interactive computers wud be pretty good, even if its just flicking thru fictional log entries like the captins log.

stuff belonging to the 'dead' crew that have presumably been eaten by the aliens. like their tools, cloths, space suits, and other personal posesions like tedy bears.

Food, if u cud go into the kitchen and chomp or shoot up the place, and tins, pans and food went flying all over the place that wud be cool

A ships cat with a limited AI running about wud be uber cool too. - basically loads of stuff thats gonna make the rines feel like theyre entering a ship that until recently contain the lives of a crew of ppl, this wud make the game more errie and immersive.
I spose u cud have some still alive, or still dying crew members left. if they were still fully alive, theyd just mope round like hostages on cs and die easily. However this might over complicate things since they wud have no practical purpose, unless the map was based around a scenario. What may be better is dying crew members that could just be lying somewhere leaking blood for the first min or so of the map before dying. i u pressed the action button on them they cud repeat a line like ' we're all going to hell' or something more inspirational

id also like to see bullet cases and other post combat carnige. I know this wudnt be too hard to do cos u get it in loads of other games and mods. The reason i want this kinda stuff is so u can tell whats gone on in a corridor before u got there. lets say ur booking it to catch up wiht ur team and when u get there theyre all dead u cud look at the wall damage, bullet casings and blood to tell what happened. u can already do this with wall damage and blood on ns1 but id like to see it developd further so u cud tell what guns they were using where they were shooting form and too.

vehicles - not nessesarily usable ones - that r being debated else where, but just cool props like: docked space shuttles, loading vehicles, motorbikes, trucks, moonbuggie type cars, scifi esc helicopters/hoer transports n stuff. They could be in large rooms like loading bays just as extra map props for us to war over. There are some vehicles in ns1 on maps, but theyre usually constructed within the map from hammer editor brushes. id prefer actual models, the could even be distructable.

Service droids - i mentioned above that surviving crew member could be still around, i think a better idea would be service droids. They wouldnt have to do anything apart from move around slowly on a very basic AI. they would have no practical perpose other than to add atmosphere and to the environment. Theyd be destroyable, and you wouldnt be able to interact with em. U can have cleaning robots, or maintanence bots, that could appear to be doing some kind of automated task. I spose u cud have defence bots and social bots but these could unbalance and distract people from the play like surviving crew members, id just like aesthetic bots.

furniture - any furniture in ns1 was almost always made up of map elements like the vehicles. models would look much better. ok on most spacestations alot of furniture would be stuck to the floor and walls to prevent it moving around but some chairs could be movable. Furniture could be used for barricades too.

if you wanted to make an immersive colony or spacestation map the following may be useful too:

medical bay stuff - beds, surgeons tools, those dentists over head lights, xray screens

amusments arcades - game machines, scifi pool tables

    Living quater furnishings

the Bridge or central control station - with plenty of different computers and screens - done fairly well in ns 1

escape pods - they dont have to work, but they should be there.

Air condtioning systems that link up

Biodomes - with lines of growing plants like u get in those big green house plantations for tomatoes

    Offices with office furniture

Videophones, and civilian communication systems along corridors

    rubbish bins

motion activated lights - u get them in energy saving styled buildings atm and theyd have an interesting game play side function - but these rnt really models

Currently most ns1 space colonies, ships and stations, have a computer core, a bridge, and some weapon systems area, maybe a biosphere, or a mineral processing. But no living areas ( i think ns eon may). id like maps with models for an almost complete colony

I really liked the cold, metallic and industrial look of the very first NS maps in version 2.0.
I also liked some of the co_maps which came out 1 or 2 years ago which had more lighting in it. I think that most people are fascinated by blue or blue glowing things and there was one co_map which had such a room but I can't remember the name of it. The room looked a bit like a lab with a warpcore in it. It was too bad that it was a co_map only because the room was made with such a lovely detail which you couldn't enjoy because of the hectic you usually have during a combat game.

So I'd like to see more futuristic industrial/tech stuff with lots of consoles, screens and so on.

There is already a nice concept drawing on the NS² page which I liked:

    <img src="http://www.unknownworlds.com/cache/thumbnails/envconcept11_800x413.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

This is exactly what I mean. It's a good mix of some steamy/dark industrial complex, with less amount of light but still fascinating and nice to watch because of the blueish lights, consoles, screens and those stasis pods.

    So yeah lots of blue glowing stuff please <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

these arnt so much models but they are kind of prop ideas

if the map being played over has the power still on it seems reasonable that things like adverts may be playing

They could be on screens or just like radio and they could loop periodically. It would add sounds to the map and leave more things going on in the back ground.

If a map has a computer core or mother terminal id like it if the 'mother' could be communicated with at some base level. In Aliens the captin asks mother a load of questions and aliens res father tracks some of the characters movements. It would not have to have much tactical use its just ment as a prop. So there maybe some computer terminals the player could go up to and ask questions like what is the probability of atmospheric failure, and the computer could say 30% or something. You could ask it your survival chances and it could tell you 5% or something horrible. You could also ask it for background info on the map such as how many crew were aboard before the incident, and other details on the incident. As a prop such a terminal could build an better back story and interative atmosphere into maps, and i imagine it would be too hard to program together.
The other thing a mother computer could do is comment through a speaker system on stuff going on in the map. Such as any changes in the map so if a significant door was sealed the computer could say through a speaker system - door R451 section 5 has been sealed. Or it could say something like Many life forms moving dowm corridor L32 in sector 8. Such broad casted statements may add to the atmosphere but could also have a tactical angle.

<!--coloro:#00FF00--><span style="color:#00FF00"><!--/coloro-->WOW!<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Haven’t checked this place in so long! Didn’t even realise it had been pinned, just shows how little I have looked at the forms recently.

Guess I should add my list of things I would like to see...

As J was working on things that he found of the floor, like trash, (don’t know if he still is, but oh well) I would say this:

    1. Broken consoles that are laying screen down on the floor with broken wires on show. These could also be used on the walls as damaged consoles, just stuff it into the wall and hide the protruding wires. It would be nice for the consoles to have a frame so that if a mapper decided to put it on the floor as a phys prop then he/she could put the frame where the console once was. The frame should have corresponding wires and cables, so that the frame and the console look like they would have been attached once. The frame could also be used as an entrance to an electrical vent. So if you imagine a corridor with consoles and screens all along the wall, and then behind this there is a vent with loads of wires and humming sounds, some of the consoles might be destructible (or perhaps they just fall to the floor and the screen cracks and some buttons fall off) and allows a player to enter the vent behind. Then the hole in the wall would have wires and sparks and the console on the floor would have sparks and wires as well.

    2. communication devices, headsets and such that are on the floor, especially around areas that are supposed to have lots of people in.

    3. Trash: used bottles, cans, small containers (all these should have advertisements that can be put onto screens in game, or posters that can be put in game, perhaps someone should come up with a load of NS brands that we might see in the future, Soylent Green anyone?). Alien trash: teeth, claws, skeletons, human remains, sludge and I hate to say it, poo? Maybe not.

    4. Living equipment: everything from glasses and knives and forks (or maybe they just use sporks in the future) to clothing, bedding and bits of paper.

    5. Destroyed walls generally, like metal ones and concrete ones, like HL2 has in it. And broken panels that can be thrown around.

...ummm ok back to my list:

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Coffins.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Something futuristic, but not over designed. Should be able to be moved around without falling open: should have locks on it and a 6 to 12 digit number on it, maybe a barcode as well. Maybe have ones that are open that smaller Aliens could hide inside. See final aliens film, forget the name, where they are carrying all the bodies into the medical facility. Something like that.

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->A crane/grabbing arm and/or claw, as someone mentioned before, that hangs from a rail along the ceiling.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Just make the bits of the <a href="http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/75956982.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF19328A71BF6FE301F7D5BCA6E09839378CD284831B75F48EF45" target="_blank">claw/arm</a>, so people can put it together themselves or have it moving along a rail. I want to use this for my coffins as a way of transporting them around my map. This will hopefully provide a way for marines to travel around the map and get to places they wouldn’t otherwise be able to get to. So please include it! ...along with my coffins <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

For 3D sky box. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geodesic_dome" target="_blank">At least one</a>, if not a few for different rooms/planets. And perhaps a long one, that’s more like a half sausage than a dome (should be about the length of A long on CS:S Dust if not longer)

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Drop Pods<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->, like the ones in Warhammer 40,000.<a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/dreaddrop.jpg" target="_blank"> See here.</a> They should be able to hang from the ceiling and have a similarly shaped door that can be opened below them.

Like fuel pumps, and large cables.

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Storage units that aren’t just crates<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->, like cheats of draws (futuristic ones, maybe in all white), desks, hanging storage units, etc. I think a lot of it would be in walls, so things are just hidden away. So maybe whole walls of cupboards, or cupboards that can be stacked to make whole walls, with some opens to reveal clothes or what ever (or broken through holes that lead to alien hives etc.).

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Landing craft<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->, like the one in Aliens or <a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/al8store.jpg" target="_blank">this one</a> or/and some kind of <a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/QUATERMASTERS_STORE_IMPERIAL_NAVY_45.html" target="_blank">fighter/space craft</a> that could have guns added to it to make it look like a fighter.

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Girders and beams<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> to put on the ceilings and under walk ways for aliens to hide behind, much like the ones that are in HL2.

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Maybe stalactite and stalagmites<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> for rocky caves and tunnels that the aliens are using; but these might be easier to make in Hammer.

    <!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->Objects for 3D sky box.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Like space craft, asteroids, distant space stations, satellite platforms and <a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/autoemp6store.jpg" target="_blank">weapons/</a><a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/mant1store.jpg" target="_blank">defence platforms.</a> <a href="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/SPACE_MARINE_SUPPORT.html" target="_blank">See (again) Warhammer 40,000 forge world.</a>

Ummm that’s all I can think of at this time.

<!--coloro:#00FF00--><span style="color:#00FF00"><!--/coloro-->Its really cool to see so many ideas on here now! Keep up the good work guys!<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

I would love to have some natural environment models and prefabs. The maps the mix indoors and outdoors and took a long time making it look and feel fluid (not boxy and not siege-map-made-in-30min-like) are great. There are only a few examples but the Glass Hallway in ns_ayumi or the landing pad and tube walkway in ns_hera come to mind as official examples.

    tree roots
    tree branches
    tree trunks
    tree roots
    complex rocky terrain (wall models)
    weeds
    vines
    waterfalls
    falling dust
    blowing leaves
    pesky insects
    ancient ruins pieces (archaeological)

NS right now just feels so dry in all of its mainstream maps.
So lifeless: even the Kharaa areas seem kind of static unless there's a lot of chambers and even then people tend to stack them awkwardly so it's an immersion breaker when you see the null base parts on the chambers)
So floor based: everything is on the ground (well unless you have the sticky chambers plugin)

If you give people only an industrial, spaceship, dry metal (or occasional slime), and mechanical set of stuff in the NS2TR, then that's what you'll get. A whole bunch of maps with creative architecture no doubt but the exact same dry metallic color scheme covering everything. Most people aren't going to be making new materials to texture the world polygons with.

I would like a few primary things additional in the NS2TR that the others here in this topic aren't really hitting on yet:<ul><li>Natural environments (ie: jungle, grassy brushes, outdoors weather)</li><li>Wet environments (areas than can or must be swam to, rain, waterfalls, fog, mist, frost, snow, steam, etc.)</li><li>Environmental props of all kinds (paper trash, destructable gibs, spell or technology like special cinematic effects)</li></ul>
People will attempt make various things like this in their spare time anyways, but the quality will suck. Especially now that you are talking professional vs. amateur... Creative options are important for mappers! Please remember that. Ya' feel me?

the_x5: I agree with you, it would be nice to see some organic material, even if players never get really close to it, just to be used in 3D sky boxes, or outside glass corridors.

I know someone was working on an underwater map. And I would really like to do/see a map that was on a swamp world, where part of the was a danger to players who could fall into the toxic swamps and die. (maybe have a little Yoda house just for fun <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )

But yeah, defiantly things that aren't just the same old metal objects. Although, obviously, these are important. Organic things (like plants) and objects that you might find on a planets surface, like rocks and more rocks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> Maybe things for 3D sky boxes, like volcanoes and distant towers/city complexes.

But, as NS2 is supposed to be before NS3 (which will probably be in cities and outside areas) we don't want huge open fields, or forests. So organic materials should probably be left to a minimum. Pot plants would be good, indoor container plants.

maybe make an alien hive that has old broken marine structures scattered around the area

Hmmm, one thing that might be cool is destroyable walkways, map-specific. And a way for a gorge or alien commander to recreate a destroyable bridge over it.

I think NS2 will play in various maps, like in Spaceships, Underground mining stations... and so on.
Imho there have to be many models for different rooms.

    <u>Engeneering room</u>
    -parts of turrets <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/siege.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::siege::" border="0" alt="siege.gif" />
-Tools, like a wrench and so on...
    -rocket parts
    -computers* with touch-screens
    -blue high energetic laser beams

    <u>Cafeteria</u>
    -Junk Food
    -colorful Drinks (like powerade)
(btw: and i like corpsman's ideas:)
    -Lerky Jerky. Gorge Gummies
-Big stuffed "turkey like" gorge no a table with an apple in it's mouth

    <u>Research lab or</u> like INKEDOUT said <u>Oxygen Garden</u>
-plants (INKEDOUT has already made a list -scroll up)
    -test tubes
    -a Liebig condenser
    -other lab tools.

    -All parts of TSA <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tsa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::tsa::" border="0" alt="tsa.gif" /> armor, i mean helmet <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" /> , boots, trousers and so on
-futuristic bottles, like those of POWERADE

*It's kinda funny to see www.unknownworlds.com on privat screens and i also think its funny to put MAX and FLAYRA into thoose family pictures, somebody already meantioned about.

I cant draw really good, but this is my vision of a sleeping area for marines. I think its better then suddently just spawning in base (at the beginning).
<i>I had to edit it, because it was too pale in the photo</i>

    <a href="http://img521.imageshack.us/my.php?image=deltasquadzy8.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/4420/deltasquadzy8.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

As u can see in the picture i havent put that much models into the room, so there is enough space for 4 rhines in there. At all, i dont like really spammed rooms. In my opinion that many models as in my picture are exacly right.
However, that rooms up there are examples. Even <i>I</i> dont like 3 or 5 of that rooms next to the marines Start. I think they should be located with distances in the map, like BIODOME is far away from Marines Start.
AND I totaly agree that such little things, like a wrench, test tubes etc. should never block or annoy any1!

Just 1 small thing that would add EXTRA atmosphere big time.
How about a personal communication's screen , room or a few panels with different people's faces saying thing's like "where are u jefft the screen went all red and now ur gone?" or, "please give my husband/daddy/mommy back " or a military style warning "this area is infested all civilians vacate immediately" , I hope you get my drift. they could be activated by touch or a person passing.
Also you could have a doomed creman message firefly style with a rine or scientist talking for 10-30 secs b4 being slaughtered.

I to some extent disagree, thing can be put in from todays date that arnt offencive for example Fallout2 did lots that where not offencive.

    - A painting of someone we all know preferably dead so they cant complain and not too important.
Examples... Elvis or the G man... You get the 'picture', haha bad pun!

    - Just imagine, what could be the most compramising possition when the aliens over run a space station. Create an image in your mind of a room bedroom with the door flung open, the onsuit shower and toilet door open. A quilt (what do americans call them?? bed sheet?) thrown on the floor at the end of the bed, female and male cloths cast around the room and on the bedside table... An un-opened condom!!! (seriosely imagine it)

    - Another scenario based one... The cluttered desk.. (Items listed off my desk)
<ol type='1'><li>empty glasses and cups</li><li>crisp packets and chocolate wrappers</li><li>train tickets and and bus recipts (with a mcdonolds offer for a big mac large meal for only 1.99)</li><li>piles of exam papers Aqa GCE Maths D1, Ocr GCE Physics B (advancing physics)</li><li>game boxes; All 4 Dawn of War, black & white 2, Diablo 2, Diablo 2 expansion, impossible creatures and Oni.</li><li>Game discs not in thier boxes, OMG there are so many i wont list!!</li><li>a LAN card or internet HUB.</li><li>take away menus or holiday destination leaflets.</li><li>pictures painted by infants, you know what i mean some kid who has drawn a house all in purple and the family dog drawn totaly out of proportion so he is the same size as the house all in green</li><li>photo frames of family members, maybe get people to post small pictures of themselfs as devout NS players so they can be become part of NS2</li><li>scellotape, i can never spell it.. anyway yeah rolls of scellotape</li><li>revision books Eg "modern europe 1970-1945" </li><li>little notes left by my girl friend when she has been bored watching me play DoW or revising for my 4 AS exams Examples; green sticky labels with all the calculations of how much she will earn when she gets her pay rise, the obveose one of "I *picture of a heart* U" but with in a diferent colour pen and different hand writting "your fat" written on the bottom (yes we have a lovely relationship)</li><li>my useless girlfriend always leaves her things on my desk Example; braclets, headbands, work for collage, poems she has written.</li><li>my wallet</li><li>recepts</li><li>game manuals</li><li>usb sticks</li></ol>
YES I HAVE A VERY MESSY DESK!!!

also maybe throws (pieces of fabric like a cover or a blanket) that should be covering a table or a sofa but actualy all screwed up in a ball on the floor

all the books of a book case on the floor infront of it (the book case not fallen over just all the books fallen out)

    teddy bears, hair brushes

Those talking fishes!!! remember the placks with the fish that talked when you walked infront of them.. THEM!!!
    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsnvKeWN1P8&feature=related" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsnvKeWN1P8...feature=related</a> <<< would be cool

Shopping bags, Spots equipment (tennis, badminton rackets, cricket baseball bats, football(english and american))

Maybe a weight bench (would be really hard to knock off the bar because its so heavy but if you did it would make one hell of a noise)

Sofas, they always are able to move by beaing shot.. but the cushions never come off... i wanna see some detachable sofa cushions...

    LEGO!!!!

    address books and diarys

Those little figurine elephants you can get (remember for good karma always point them towards the door of your house and if you have 2 doors your screwed)

Remotes, TV, DVD, they are always impossible to find, maybe when you knock a cushion off a sofa a remote flys out.. ! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    bills, gas, water, electriciy.

Things that identify careers:<ol type='1'><li>police - badge</li><li>builder - hard hat</li><li>elivis impersonator - big wig and full white suit</li><li>santa impersonator - santa had na beard (come on i bet in NS2 times santa is still a belived myth!)</li><li>chef - chef hat</li><li>referee - black uniform and whistle!</li></ol>you get the idea....

    Thats my contribution... xD

So when can we expect to have the NS2TR released? Later this year or what?

Edit: And everytime I hear about the NS2TR I always think of scrapping my ns_eva map for ns and start working on it for NS2...which is something I don't want to do...

    One very important thing!!!!
<u><b>COCKROACHES!!!!</b></u> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> Survive a nuke , eat rotten carrion, and breed in sewers would shorly survive /feast on an alien invasion with the mess created!
We need roaches on certain maps. The cloaked alien revealed by the crunch n splat, the rine who cant hear the onos coming by the roaches swarming over /around the res tower , make em from fingernail to fist sized , able to be shot but they do no damage , just annoy both sides and add atmosphere!

They could be an addition to the death sequence in certain maps with them swarming on bodies from either side devouring quickly instead off the current fade to nothing when killed. There could be small cracks or gaps in walls or the floor that they would swarm out off and onto the alien/ rine dead body covering and consuming either in a silent frenzy or a loud shredding sound.

    Hahaha, are you serious?

Personally, I'd like to think that humans have found some way to eliminate cockroaches in the future.
    God, I hate cockroaches.

Actually, I think small insects would be a good idea. Like rats and spiders. It could give a map alittle more "life" to it then just the aliens and marines.

I though the NS2 developers had indeed indicated that ambient small NPC's would be a definite consideration for NS2? Heck I remember the idea being discussed for NS v3.2 before it was made and released. (I'm not sure if I can find the topic though...)

Won't having small NPCs just be a waste of server power? I know that they are having them around the hives, but over whole maps? Saying that tho, I would quite like to see little R2D2/K9 style bots going around some maps, especially thouse that plan to have Labs in them. Or just broken on the floor maybe? I imagine in the future you would have cleaning robots in most hospitals/labs that would go around cleaning the floors. It makes sense to have something like that included in the NS2TR. 1 or 2 should do it models should do it. These bots could also be used on maps where matinece needs to be done on tunnels and stuff. You could even have some vents blocked for a moment when one of these comes rushing along it (Kinda like the oil pipe robot in one of the 007 films {Die another day??})...

<!--coloro:#FFFF00--><span style="color:#FFFF00"><!--/coloro-->I am playing around in Hammer at the moment and realise the most important thing for me is a decent up light and a space craft/landing craft... ...maybe a digger(but I can probably do that in hammer) and some generators/big machinery (that too might be made in hammer)<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

    Hi,

I think it would be very cool if there are models which can illuminate underground tunnel.
In EP2 there is the Firefly, but i think in NS2 should be something else.
And i think that the map can be found on other planets and because this there can be some scifi models.
My idea would perhaps crystals or plants lights. It makes the whole beautiful brighter and more realistic.

    Otherwise, in any case:
    - Computers, terminals and chairs
    - Alien webbs or ropes with Alien texture, something like lianas

A reactor as in EP1 would also be nice for a fusion reactor or something else in the map.

Yeah and the high of an Onos or the biggest Alien, because its very stupid if you stuck at any edge.

    Hmm what else....

Maybe some different and xenoform skys.
Much textures, which we can use for our own models.

And infos about Hl2 Models/Textures, can we use them? Specially EP2.
And whats about buildings on displacements?

    So bye StEr0iD

Yeah I thought it would be cool to have flares, like EP1. But I imagine they are very expensive. It is possible to make flares for tunnels, and stuff, on Hammer already. It just might have to be a static prop. "crystals or plant lights" sounds cool tho, that way you could have really strange lighting in places and no one would really question it if the crystals around the player were glowing purple or green...
