Nice I really enjoyed the informal style of the audio post. I think if you did one of these every friday, if you can manage it, in addition to the blog posts that would be great. In response to a couple of other posts I thought the background music was just fine and whilst I personally don't get all the technical stuff I'm happy to listen to it :z.

For the next one I'd love to hear about of the status of the NS2:TR

I wouldn't mind if you replaced blog entries by podcasts, provided you can release them every week. The format was good, though it could have been more focused (a little too much of "ummm what else..."). I'm looking forward to next week's episode, and would love to hear more juicy tidbits about the game and its development. Maybe you can bring other members of the team in over Skype?

I like the idea of an audio update, but the background music was kinda...intruding or something...Annoying.

Am I the only one who prefers text so I can just read it at my own pace and keep listening to music?

    Tru love <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    I really like the background music <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerd-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::nerdy::" border="0" alt="nerd-fix.gif" />

Great idea, less rambling, more content, no background music, please edit side conversation, and if you could incorporate video instead of just audio, that would be awesome.

Since everyone likes the idea of "more personal" a video would make you keep it shorter and make it more interesting when you do ramble . . . lol. Answer the guy's questions above as well. I'll come up with more for next time.

Nice. I can't speak for anyone else, of course, but I would be very interested to know more about the technical stuff.

I second that, especially if it's easier for you guys - obviously if there's not a lot going on, I wouldn't expect a podcast about it, but in general, more frequent updates that are easier to produce would be better (in my opinion) than the more formal system in place now.

Finally had a chance to listen to the audio blog... It was very entertaining! The rambling and teasing made me chuckle at several points, please keep leaving it in there. That being said, Flayra, we can't tell when you are pointing at Max, so saying "This is Flayra, and this is Max" twice during that blog was smoooooooth. I agree with N_3, I found the background music was a bit loud at times.

I think you guys are heading in the right direction with the casual friday audio(/visual!) blogs and for technical stuff to go into the written blogs. For a "Max's Tech-Corner" to work for me I'd probably also need a video feed of his screen while he takes us through what he is talking about. I see a few people in this thread wanting more techiness like me, but I can't help but wonder if the people who want less techiness simply aren't posting or event visiting these forums?

I once built a World of Warcraft guild website using Joomla (bridged to SMF). I definately agree that way Joomla urls work are a pain in the butt! Now I'm involved in building a web site & server as part of a larger University project, so I would be interested in reading/hearing more on these lessons Max learned while rolling his own CMS (in blog form, ofcourse!).

This may seem like a silly question to ask, but I'd like to hear how far they actually are with NS2, or at least a hint as to expect it this year or next. Great idea tho, audio. Good work guys!

    Yes we do want more of these ! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

NS2 and SC2 are the only 2 PC games which matter, I can't wait for more juicy details on NS2.

audio is a great idea - much easier for you guys to record a quick thing than spend an hour typing up a blog.
Although my only beef was that you have to listen to the entire thing, (while entertaining <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> ) 10 minutes is a bit long, and i only really wanted to get the facts as I was pressed for time when listening.

What about a doing like a video(slide show) showing some concepts or screen shots of your dev tools or whatever the topic is about with some narration? that way it can be concise and while remaining informative.
Basically yeah a slide show with some explanations - you know "Insert concept art - Charlie says - this is a peice of concept art because we wanted to do this la la etc" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Great idea, and i agree, with the weekly update like Valve does, telling people about what has been done this week, obviously if was something to mention.

    Less music, get more to the point (i.e. no man-flirting). Overall nice audio though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Video would be better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    "Max's tech corner"? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> That would be awesome. I love hearing really nitty gritty technical stuff.

    Very nice, keep it up!
