<div class="IPBDescription">alien unkillable</div>ok i have a freind i am helping out. the elevator is going up over 1000 points and the speed is 192 cause it has to be so so fast the problem is that when skulks go up with the marins the only way to kill the aliens is a: use a knife. or b: shoot up over the skulk. there is alot of people on the server that has a problem with that, i was wondering it anyone may know hoe to fix this.

    First of all, wrong forum <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Second. You mean when an elevator is moving up very fast, the skulk (or gorge/lerk) sitting on it will sink into the elevator? Making its hitbox impossible to hit?

Well that what I've seen happen when I'm on a elevator in my map. I stay on top of the lift, yet my VoF is inside the brush. So I assume the hitbox is also inside the brush. (not tested it though, its just an observation from first person). If this is an issue I guess its an issue with Goldsrc and moving objects trough the net, only thing to do is slow down the elevator (which you cant do, since its a long distance and it would take to long?)

Or am I on the wrong path to what you are talking about?

I assume you're using a func_door for the elevator? Which is ok, but maybe a func_plat will work better trough the net. or a func_train (which can be built on).

The thing is Half-Life can do its work perfectly with tracing bullets, compensation for lag and building collisions. It is however severly lacking in doing those things with moving objects with the aid of an entity (remember the original ns_bast rotating airlock?). You can't really do much about it other then decreasing the speed, I guess.

However try fiddling around with the func_plat, func_train (not recommended for elevators) and see if they cause less hitbox lag...

well right now he is using func_train

    huh, that's kinda weird.

The only thing I can think of is change the speed of the elevator and fiddle with the other options (func_plat).
