<div class="IPBDescription">Directed by 300's Zack Snyder!</div>Wow is all I can say. Left speechless.
In one of the 300 trailers, they hid a teasing picture of Rorschach :o

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/tykjen/Rorshach_300.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Brightened it up a bit, and got even more teased..
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/tykjen/Rorshach_300_gamma.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

For those of you that havent read Watchmen by Alan Moore, please do. You wont regret it.

More info, and im quoting:

Reelz just aired an interview with Snyder about Watchmen. I asume it was supposed to be about 300, but he knows the masses have moved onto Watchmen.

<a href="http://www.reelzchannel.com/moviedetail.aspx?movieid=223693&clipid=18326" target="_blank">http://www.reelzchannel.com/moviedetail.as...mp;clipid=18326</a>

He said:

-- Film will take place in the 80's, Cold War included ("it's not my story to change")
-- The film will run around 3 hours (he compared it to LOTR)
-- The film will include stuff from the Black Freighter
-- Tom Cruise will NOT be in the cast (although they did speak)
-- Gerard Butler WILL be in the cast (undetermined character)
-- Multiple other characters have been cast, but he's not at liberty to say (yet)

Im so teased now..just blew a circuit I think.

I think I've actually read the script before somewhere on the internet, and it's a really good one.

Three hours? Comparison to Lord of the Rings? Pffftfp.

Still though, exciting news. Only recently read the comics, not half bad are they? Rorschach makes a brilliant anti-hero. Wonder who they'll get to play Dr. Manhattan and the Comedian?

Apparently they're looking into Ron Perlman for the Comedian.

Oh, and hi Tykjen. I never realized you went to the NS Forums. It's Surgey, from the Fallout channel. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

He has such a huge jaw.

oh - yea the movie sounds interesting too. 3 hours though, I hope you don't have to be a huge fan to enjoy it. I'd never heard of watchmen prior to this.

*crosses fingers that it ends up an Alan Moore movie adapted comic that he isn't embarrased to have his name in the credits for*

The sad part is I already know the ending of the story...but should be pretty awesome to see on screen.

The final scenes in New York should be impressive on the big screen.

As much as I love and respect the guy's work, he's a complete egotistical ######bag who will never be happy with any movie based on his works.

The <a href="http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=22777" target="_blank">cast list</a> of Watchmen has been announced.

No Ron Pearlman as the comedian..a lil dissapointed. But since it timespans from the early 40's to late 80's, I guess they needed a young age range on the cast.

Now its only a matter of time for the viral campaigns to show up.

I've read Watchmen hundred's of times, and never tired of it as a comic. Please, PLEASE don't do this injustice.

Zack Snyder was cheated when he didn't win the Oscar for "Most Egregious Use of Slow Motion" ever. Return of the King shouldn't have won; it was a distant second.

I have no doubts he can stretch Watchmen out to 3 hours. Half of it will be in slow-mo.

For those of you who haven't read Watchmen, it's a comic, and Time magazine rated it as one of the 100 best novels. Therefore, you should go read it.

    I <i>really really</i> hope this doesn't suck.

If "bloke movie" is industry-speak for shirtless men stabbing each other in slooooooooowwwwwwwww motion and occasionaly in superreallyfastspedup time, then sure. Otherwise... not so much.

I doubt Watchmen will be a series too much ultra boring use of slo mo. Remember Snyder did also direct Dawn of the dead, which i think he did with great success. The only thing in common it will have with 300, is that he will go for the 200% greenscreen studios.

The only really bad casting decision is Malin Akerman as Sally Jupiter. It really goes against the feeling of the comic to have some blonde bombshell playing her.

Actually, in terms of a movie adaptation of a graphic novel? it sucked HORRIBLY.

In terms of awesome fight scenes with nifty one liners?

WTF, when 300 came out, I was being blasted left and right for being harsh on it. I was so alone and thrown in the pit of hell. Where the hell did the rest of you naysayers come from?

And why should NYC scene be big? It was what? 2 pages? Before and After? I'd rather have be like that.

Meh, that pic is nothing. What got me excited was the newsstand!

I mean seriously, they are including the newsstand! And he's reading the Black Freighter! If they include this, I'll die of happiness.

Just from that, I have hope that this will be a close adaptation.
