<div class="IPBDescription">For mapping</div>Im in the works of creating an NS2 map , its at very early stages. Currently the whole map has a floor and im working on walls/celings.

Im just curious as to how high the tallest unit is so i got an idea of how much space to play in.

Currently Humans/default player are 64 units high and 32units wide...

Any dev know at all ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

You'll be lucky if you get an answer on this before the NS2TR.

In know its a bit different in hl2, the player is <b>72</b> units tall - so i would assume that this would be the same for marines in NS2, however you can also assume that an onos will be atleast 50% taller than a marine - so thats something to consider in your map.
Creating walls in hl2 that are 128 height is probably a good height though, as if you create a ceiling that is only say 80units high then it feels incredibly cramped. So 128 should be your min height and probably double that for busy areas, but that all depends on your map <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Like Crispy said, wait for the NS2 Test release - your only going to waste your time trying to do a full blown map at this stage. Use the time to hone your skills in HL2 mapping or even hl1.

Aye thanks for the heads up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> , been attempting texture work ! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> . The standard textures in Hl2 is not really enough metal/ decent pallete to play around with. Im quite skilled at photoshop but its the "Getting the feel" part of the texture im lacking in, making it a material and act like its metal "Shiny reflections etc". I will have to read into bump maping abit later aswell.

But yes , i thought 128 would be decent enough, my walls are 128 as standard anyhow. Using orange dev textures atm on my map as there are no palletes yet.

So like you said ill wait for the TR "Fingers crossed" and thanks once again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />.
