Back in NS 2.x, the hive would use that animation when it died and it was later changed. Does anyone know where i could get this animation?

It's still in the current model, it just isn't coded into NS.

    Does that mean it won't work if I get the model from an older version? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

Well, that would probably make no difference. It's the same model.
The animations don't work just by being in the model, they have to be activated through the game code.

So, unless a dev codes it in, there's no way to get a death animation, because the model simply disappears when the hive goes down.

Could you code it into the game with a server side plug-in?

I guess it would be possible with AMXX. I once requested a plugin that does this at nsmod.org but never got a response.
