I agree with you Comprox, this episode was weak.

They pulled a superman and just threw the bomb into space...

Petey is definitely not dead. No way. All he did was explode. He did that in the alternate future as well without dying.

His power is also ridiculous, when you think about it... As you said.. he can twist time now... Hell, he even has super strength, the ability to go through walls, and the ability to mess with technology now...

In fact, he even has the power to eat people's brains to get there power... not that that would help.

Wasn't he also just next to the Molly kid? He can find anyone he wants.

The only thing is that he probably didn't realize it...
And I'm not sure if in the episode he actually had super strength. He should have since he was just next to Jessica/Whatever her name is... but Sylar totally didn't seem like he got hit hard enough for it to be super strength.

And yeah, Hiro is awesome with a sword now, right... Why'd he have to get so good at a sword if he was just going to run and stab? That takes no skill.

Comprox pretty much summed it up. Any other episode from the season was better than the finale -_- . Some things I've been thinking... õ.Ô

How did Sylar manage to crawl into the sewer? Was EVERYBODY so busy looking at the pretty light in the sky?

Also, whose brains did Sylar eat to gain the ability to appear behind people?

I'm more interested by foreshadowing from Molly when she was talking about the guy that's eviler than the Boogeyman, and she was all like "When I think of him, he can see me." I'm pretty sure she wasn't tlaking about Sylar, so who could that be? Probably a new villain for season 2!

Yes, I don't know why Sylar is still alive... That foreshadowing should have been like been the big thing that makes us all interested about the next season... and the thing that would allow Sylar to die without us being completely at ease.

I was also disappointed in the finale, but I'm not going to add anything about that.

But about Peter's abilities, we do not now that it is enough to be in proximity of other heroes to gain them, maybe they sort of have to pay attention to each other, maybe Peter's body sort of has to "notice" the ability.

Note to aspiring tv writers: If you are going to build up to a single event all season, don't make that event suck.

Seriously, I would have liked to have seen Peter use at least one of his powers to fight Sylar.

Yeah, very weak episode. There goes my dream of a "Dark City"-esque battle.

I'd like to believe he used super strength at least.

But yeah, Peter was supposed to have an awesome battle after that first failed one.

Obviously he ate an Igor's brain.

I have to say, this was one of the most disappointing finales in recent memory. Throughout the season, there was very good pacing towards the foreseen cataclysm, with three key players. Hiro, Peter and Claire were all to be instrumental in preventing the explosion. Then we find out that Peter is going to be the cause of the explosion, and the remaining two critical players move to center stage. The story continues to build towards the climax and when both Claire, Peter and Hiro are in position to play it out two things go horribly wrong with the narrative.

Firstly, all of Hiro's machinations and preparations were relatively pointless. As we saw in the future, Hiro isn't certain about what he is doing. He had saved the cheerleader and yet Sylar still ruled as president. His second attempt was to kill Sylar, and he failed.

Secondly, saving the cheerleader is not directly related to how the story plays out. Sure one might argue that Claire's presence for the climax was a major influence in Nathan reversing his decision to allow the explosion, but the links she had with how the end game played out are really only circumstantial.

We were being lead to a climax where the three primary players would interact to change the way the story played out, and then suddenly, out of leftfield, comes Nathan to save the day. All that had to be in place for the story to finish as it did was for Nathan to come to the realisation he did shortly after he found out Peter would cause the explosion.

I'm not saying that the 3 primary players were irrelevant to how the story played out, but none of them were really critical to it and that is a failing.
