Popupmenu not being "grayed" out in 3.2

Talked to several people in various servers, apparently the popupmenu doesn't seem to "gray" out a skill if you have it. If it's unavailable to you, such as aliens can't get a certain ability unless it's open for them to use then it's grayed out but in combat maps for example, both rine and aliens don't seem to have stuff already gotten become "gray".

Here is a screen shot of the default popupmenu for marines;

You can see I already have all 3 levels of weapon upgrades, however the nodes are not grayed out?

I personally use Shaz's popupmenu's (slightly different shape and lighter colors), it has the same problem so I know it's not a custom skin issue.

It's not a game breaker per say but it can be time consuming stopping to look at your upgrade icons to remember what you have. Those few seconds you stop to check and then spend resources or a experience point on something could easily equal someone coming around a corner and just killing you point blank.

    Unable to replicate problem on completely vanilla NS. The only thing I can find is that the only link I can dig up for Shazbot's popupmenu is dated Fab 1st 2005.
    Check and make certain that the customisations are 100% tested with 3.2.
    Failing that, back the whole directory up, and reinstall NS, to test on a perfectly vanilla install

    The people you talked to probably had version 3.1.3 and just installed 3.2 over it to keep the downloaded content which is what I did and I also have that problem

    I'm going to guess that's a skin problem, not NS. I haven't seen that happen in 'vanilla' NS before. Perhaps you could ask around and see if other people are experiencing the same thing with that popupmenu skin.

    The people I talked too said they had a vanilla install

    If it's a custom skin issue, what other skin other than marinenode.spr and aliennode.spr could there be for the popupmenu? I've tried using both default files, as you saw in my screen shot I had the default 3.2 marinenode.spr installed, no "gray" out of the items.

    If there is another file related to it, I'll gladly replace it with the default files (I kept a backup install of vanila 3.2 to replace any files that didn't work).

    Just an observation here, but a hell of a lot of problems are being caused by people directly overwriting the previous NS installation. In theory, it shouldn't affect anything, because I'd imagine that the files would be totally overwritten, using an identical structure to 3.1, with just the updated files. However, many people are starting to report problems, and seem to have just overwritten their previous 3.1 install with the 3.2 one.

    Just a thought, but try copying the entire NS folder to a safe location, then uninstall NS. Because you'll've made a copy of the folder, the original will be deleted, but the copy will remain intact. Reinstall 3.2 from the installation file you used in the first place, and try it then. No custom files, nothing. Just pure 3.2 files, and vanilla only. See if the problem persists. If it doesn't, then its a custom files or overwriting issue. If it does, then there's an underlying problem somewhere...
