<div class="IPBDescription">Or: Canada has a army?!</div>as of 2 hours and some odd minutes I am officially sworn in as a part of the Canadian forces as a co-op reservist with the 31st Combat Engineers Regiment (The Elgins).

I've been wanting to join the CF for a while and when the co-op program at my school was announced I say the chance and it fit perfectly with the current going ons in my family and life. my mom just opened up here own restaurant so everyone wins (I get to help it get off the ground, I get to join the CF and the CF gets another pair of boots)

For Queen and Country! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

*Edit*

now I have to get my hair cut D:

Some history (it's history predates the confederation of Canada!)

(works now)

    Your URL doesn't work.

Maybe I should join the CF... I certainly have no problem cutting my hair to ridiculous lengths.

Does Canada's army actually do anything?

    If not, then good for them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

grats on joining an army that won't ship you to Iraq!

    Disco:

Canada is currently in Afghanistan in the Kandahar province. The CF is currently scheduled to fight in Afghanistan until 2009 (although it may be extended, which I am personally for but I doubt the public has the will for another extensions.)

    lolfighter:

No pictures yet maybe after I lose my hair and if it isn't in OPSEC.

    Sonic:

damn right those damn rodents have been sitting easy for too long.

    Thaldarin:

    are they bringing tea?

Joining the army was the one of the worst experiences of my (admittedly short) life so far. But then again i got to fire 2 bazookas, and saw a missile being launched from about 50 meters away, so I think I got out on top.

But have fun, you'll make some good friends and get a hell of alot of memories, some good some bad. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Combat Engineer, eh?

Don't forget to upgrade them to upgrade your turrets to level three... You get missiles then, yanno. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

What region of canada do you hail? My uncle did the army thing down here in BC, and utterly hated it. He said there was a tonne of corruption here and it made things miserable, and that's one of the main reasons I decided firmly against it. Anyways, best of luck and have fun being trained to kill people! ^____^

Congrats. Best of luck in the forces. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> My uncle served a full career as an engineer with the CF from here in British Columbia. He served in Korea, West Germany, and the Middle East. I'm sure you'll get to see lots of interesting places. Are you going to be posted in Petawawa?

no, I'm being trained locally (still a good hours drive give or take) as I'm a Reservist (at a co-op student at that too). If it's for me I'm going to go full time and see about switch over to to infantry (where that leads we will see)
