    This foregrip. Is utterly impossible to make look good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry:" border="0" alt="mad-fix.gif" />

    Done a fair bit so far, looks terrible though, needs more work before I can show it.

    Hey Sid, long time no see.

    I decided to do my own edit to your concept (and colored it for no real reason) and came up with this:

    <img src="http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/6026/arifleconceptkindoffinadv9.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    I know, my added handle is crappy, but you get the idea: more flowing, less abrupt. Kind of flows with the body of the rifle; after all, in the future, I think rifles and such will have much smoother bodies.

    Oh, btw, I used your older pics (the 4-in-1, #3 and #4).

    I think the marines should keep the Marine Blue-Green color on theyr weapons... the way you colored it makes i look like any assault rifle.. Personally i want a rifle i can familyize (A real word?) with... All the weapons in NS looks like they are family. If you changed all the places you have colored green with marine-green or blue. that would mabye have made the assault rifle accepted in the family.

    I agree. Whenever I pictured one of my concepts colored, I always picture the washed-out green colour of the TSA.

    Gunmetal and black just don't work. :/

    Edit: And that's another reason why I try and keep my weapons a little curvy, but mostly "blocky" looking, so it suites with the current load out of the TSA.

    Sid: That's the EXACT concept I got that idea from. H&K xM-8 AR.

    I just chose those colors because they're closer to the xM-8 itself...

    If you'd like to maybe make my idea look better (you're way out of my league), I'll re-color it more TSA style.

    Hey, I think your edit looks great! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> And I'm out of nobodies' league. I can't even colour my own work, heh! Everybody has different styles, and the whole point of a concept is to get the general idea across - it doesn't have to look like the next picasso of firearms. Your concept is great, Spawn. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Aww...thx.

    Hmm...Well, you do get my idea of a more integrated, smooth handle, right? If you could put that onto one of yours, I'd be happy to re-color to fit the TSA style.

    Yeah I get it - it's a good idea. I'll see what I can do for ya. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Ok, how's this for color?

    <img src="http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/9138/finishedassaultrifle6cocj9.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    Or, if you think the yellow is STILL out of place:

    <img src="http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5253/finishedassaultrifle6cozi4.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    I took another look and thought that the blue was too bright, so:

    <img src="http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/6362/finishedassaultrifle6cobv0.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    And then I slapped the TSA logo on for no real reason (ripped from ns.wad and edited to fit! thx flayra for the logo!):

    <img src="http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4703/finishedassaultrifle6copn9.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    And still leaving all four for votes.

    Sorry for the uber long post.

    And making it longer, I just loved the yellow-and-gray theme from earlier, so I remade one like that (and added a barreltip sight to all of them):

    <img src="http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1486/finishedassaultrifle6cosn9.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    Hooray for longest post in this thread yet!...lol.

    Argh a colored tsa icon cool, woulkd be nice if that could be endented or raised up off the model when made.

    Also i am not a fan of the red rings or any form of fluro red on any sort of gun makes it look like a toy.
    Keep up the good work gents.

    Hhmmm...Ok, try this one:

    <img src="http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6872/finishedassaultrifle6coiw3.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    And, the yellow-and-gray one:

    <img src="http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/8962/finishedassaultrifle6cojk1.png" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    Also, I bumped an old thread containing one of Sid's older concepts, which I colored (soo many different parts lol, took me a whole hour just to decide what to color each part!).

    It should be one below this thread or so.

  • Spawn_of_Chaos97Spawn_of_Chaos97 Join Date: 2006-11-21 Member: 58694Members
    Eh. I'm going to wait for some other crits before I totally remove it.

    I think it kind of says "do not touch here" lol...or look here (into the barrel XD)
  • NEX9NEX9 Join Date: 2005-03-08 Member: 44299Members

    Droopy lines make it look sad.

    The section where the magazine goes in wants to line up with the 'ejection port?'

    Part of the grip where the webbing between your thumb and forefinger goes looks too thin, and it doesn't look like it'd be comfy to pull the trigger as it seems to be pointing down, maybe tweak it a little so its closer to parallel with the 'firing line?'

    The curvy version isn't the final one - the one before that is the one I consider "final."

    One?

    Or two?

    One?

    Or two?

    One..... orrrrr... two?

    <img src="http://pgroves.googlepages.com/AssaultRifles2.PNG" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    I'm thinking that block in #1 on the top of the stock could be like a chin rest or something.

    but i think ill have a go at that top one there if i find the time... any more info on how in the hell it looks?

    Hehe, hey Ratty! <3

    Mostly just make it up as you go, man. That's how all good things happen, right? Spontaneous and whatnot. Do what looks right to you... if it looks like a cone, then go for it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> It'll all turn out in the end. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
