<div class="IPBDescription">Quick Question..</div>I was reading some forums earlier today, and people expect to see the game on Steam and on shelves. So that brings me to my question.

Does Unknown Worlds Entertainment have any investors?

And if they do not already, hopefully that quick tech demo of the Dynamic Infestation in Source will raise some eyebrows on the Financial front. Since Unknown Worlds is just starting out, with their first profit gain(hopefully <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> ) Zen of Sudoku. I still do not believe this is going to really bring out the full all out launch in stores. Maybe you can Release the game on Steam, then in the near future after that release retail copies to stores. Thats if the sales do well on steam. (I am very sure they will have excellent sales on steam)

Below Charlie Cleveland talked about some of these problems in the interview from <a href="http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=13285" target="_blank">FiringSquad</a>
"We spent a lot of time talking to investors about financing NS2, but unfortunately outside money has a lot of strings attached. We really didn't want to compromise the design vision or game quality to satisfy investors, so instead we've put together a development strategy and a budget that will allow us to fund the development completely with Zen and our own money. We've done this though a combination of keeping the development cycle short, compensating team members through revenue sharing, and being careful to keep the budget as lean as possible."

In my opinion I really believe the community has to step up on this one, to make this a very good and in depth game. And give some good donations to the team.(Not just 20 dollars for an Icon) It is very different then Tripwire interactive and how they got their funding for Red Orchestra to be on store shelves.(They won 1,000,000 Make something Unreal Contest) But then again I also believe Tripwire is very similar to Unknown Worlds, which both started off as a mod team making games for free.

<img src="http://opgamez.net/media/cdboxs/Red.Orchestra.Ostfront.41.45-DOOM.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Hopefully with in the span between now and Release they will have those investors. And hopefully see
Natural-Selection in Stores and Digitally Distributed on the internet.

P.S Where is the Paypal link, for the company not for Natural-Selection. Thanks

    Donating large amounts of money...without any compensation takes a really big heart.

    I can also see what types of problems Flayra would have run into when trying to get funding (venture capital firms want most of the profits b/c of the high risk involved/many of the companies fail to even get a profit).

    Donating more than 30$, people really want something back--a special priviledge, beta tester status, part of the profits--even if it's .001% (.00001). Whatever. If NS2 sold for $30, and it sold 100K copies...that's 3mil and enough to get a LOT of #$%$ rolling. If Flayra offered a limited time contract arrangement..for people that followed these guidelines...he'd probably get some money...

    1) X person pays Flayra 50$ for A) cool icon when playing, B) beta tester status, C) .001% (.00001) of the NS2 profits for the first two years it's released. If NS2 sells 100,000 copies @ 30$ a pop in the first 2 years, the person would MAKE BACK 30$ of their 50$ while still having a cool icon and beta tester status. This would go on until 1% of the profits for the first 2 years is taken. After that, no further money would be accepted. This would allow Flayra to potentially 'make' $50,000 through contract 'stock' purchases. (50$x1000).

    AKA, 1000 people pay $50 to flayra in exchange for ABC. Flayra makes $50K that goes into the companies coffers for basic expenses.

    Imho, that's not a BAD deal and might be a good deal. AND if NS2 is a HUGE hit, it's a very good investment for anyone who paid the 50$ ahead of time...b/c now they got sweet beta status AND a piece of the profits. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />.

    AND it would allow a few wealthy guys..to perhaps even donate 500-1000$ for an even larger piece of the profits--just so long as that ratio/agreement stays the same. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> Best part is, is that it would be temporary yet effective for the company and the people who want to help Flayra out. Because Flayra is the president of the company, he can do/create whatever he wants as long as it's within the bounds of business law (knew I shoulda taken that course...lol).

    Sounds good, I have emailed him many times about investing in Unknown Worlds and was wondering how I could. Even though I am not a huge company.

    I would really think about buying shares of Unknown worlds if it was possible. Cool little hobby I really enjoy.

    Thanks for the ideas, but we're not looking for outside investment at the moment (and hopefully won't need to for the development of NS2). As mentioned in that FiringSquad interview we're financing the development of NS2 with Zen of Sudoku sales and our savings and keeping the budget really tight.

    As much as I can see the reasoning behind not wanting "strings-attached money", could you at least put the Paypal donation system back up so people can give you "no-strings-attached money"?

    That sounds like a good way to get some development money and allow the fans to contribute something. Why not get it going immediatly? I'll donate some cash.

    Well if you have "cash to burn" then definitely feel free to Paypal us money at paypal@unknownworlds.com! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Zoc is working on getting the Constellation donation system working again so that will be live again as soon as it is. There's no ETA on it at the moment.

    Thanks guys!
    P.S. Cool box art Tiger.

    for some reason this made me lol, but i guess seeing NS2 on the 360 would be cool.

    got $36.75 in my paypal account ready to donate. If i dontate now would i still get constie status once the whole thing gets back up?
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    I gave a nice big donation, even got a email back from flayra. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    I would really wait until he gets the constie status back up. I am pretty sure the system they have right now is if you donate the 20 dollars it automatically changes you to a constellation member. I do not think he wanted to do everything manually lol

    I'd donate 100 - 200 $ if those who help financing NS2 would get NS2 for free then. (Still 100$ more profit then, though pt would be nice too lol)
