Gorge Soft Toy

Me and Zma were thinking about ordering a <3 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pudgy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::gorge::" border="0" alt="pudgy.gif" /> Soft Toy from a commercial company.

Old stuff below, read the bottomost post please:

<!--sizeo:1--><span style="font-size:8pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->

For example: <a href="http://www.wompro.com/catalogue/category1018/c1295/category1026/category1087/product4526" target="_blank">http://www.wompro.com/catalogue/category10...087/product4526</a>

Because its a custom soft toy, the company would need a sufficient amount of orders to do it. In the example
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Due to our manufacturing processes, our minium order value is generally AU$5000.00 (US$3,700.00) <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

So assuming a toy would cost $15, we would need about 250 buyers. The company would have to do all the delivering because none of us can house 250 gorge soft toys, and then there're all the delivering and money transfer problems. I don't know if this wompro-company does it but I will inquiry them if this gets positive support.

And now I'm asking how many would be interested? I doubt this topic will ever get 250 "yes" replies but I guess I have to start somewhere.

Thanks.

    I would buy one, since the company is in Australia which makes payment much easier. (It IS in Australia, right?)

    Edit: Yay, it is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    I think this was one of the reasons I registered some 2 years ago :-P

    I'd like one, but I'd have to reserach into the site more before giving real payment info.

    I'd take a gorge plushie over Zen of Sudoku.

    Definitely yes if shipping is within my price range (which, for a Gorge Plushie, would be quite high)

    And how would shipping work? Because if it's based on Australia, European shipping would be quite expensive, especially if they send them individually to each buyer. If, however, they send it all to the person who makes the order, will you <i>really</i> send out each gorge plushie out?

    Ehm, my bad. I assumed the prices were low but no wait, sending 10x15x30cm box costs like 30 euros to Australia from Finland (I guess the prices are same other way around). This is a major problem that I did not think of ahead. We have three options

    1) We find another company.

    1) We ask if Wompro can have some kind of special arrangement with the(ir) post since eg. Play-Asia can send air economy boxes with very low price - 5 euros.

    3) One trusted person from each country recieves a huge pile of gorges which he then sends forth. I'm not sure if this actually costs less than direct sending.

    I doubt they even have a credit card system, bank transfer would do.

    But the delivery is now the major problem, any advise appreciated.

    After doing some calculations with TnT and such, it might not be that expensive but I'm not exactly sure how it works when the area is so widespread.

    I sent an inquiry to the Wompro company and asked them to arrange the delivering, see what we get.

    If there's an overwhelming market for the gorge toys, is it possible that we might see toys for the other aliens as well?

    Someone let Flayra in on this one: if you need some extra dough, don't worry about coding and marketing a whole game (ZoS), just make NS merchandise, starting with a plush gorge.

    Should've done that 2 years ago to be honest ;/

    Id love one as well, but as people said, shipping is the big issue. To Canada here would cost a heck of a lot <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    If Flayra marketed it right (maybe..i dunno), I bet he could reach a very large consumer base--imagine how many peeps have played NS...and loved the gorge model :x.

    Well they haven't replied me yet and when I come to think of it, I doubt they even will. Our best bet would be the following:<ul><li>Get enough publicity for this topic so Flayra gets interested and sees this possible.</li><li>He inquiries a company</li><li>He makes a list of buyers</li><li>All of the buyers pay him and then he makes the final order</li><li>The company posts him all the gorges</li><li>He posts them onward.</li></ul>The price would be the major problem, especially the delivery.

    Assuming he would get around 370 buyers, the price would be

    + $10 gorge
    + $5 shipping for each gorge from Australia to USA (Calculated using TNT)
    + $10-$25 for the shipping from USA to America/Europe/Asia etc. (Calculated using our local Post)

    So if I were to order one here it would cost about $40. Quite expensive eh.
