Basically, when an alien player is out of the reinforcing queue, they just switch between views of the built hives. Either automatic switching of which hive they're looking at every few seconds or moving their view between hives using the directional keys. The same concept could be applied to IPs. Though given the potentially large number of IPs it'd probably be better suited to player controlled view switching, rather than automatic view switching. Perhaps automatic view switching could be the default action and player controlled view switching could override it.

This feature would keep afk players out of the map and spawn queue and also open up some tactical options. An alien team could coordinate their spawning so that they can fight off a spawn camp. A commander could set up some forward IPs, allowing marines to consistantly spawn close to the action, while still allowing them to spawn at their main base if needed.

The hive views could potentially be defined by the mappers, allowing them to set up viewing angles that show as much of the hive as possible. Though that wouldn't be viable for the IPs; the views would have to be automagically defined.

    It would be interesting to assign spawn points to marines as well. Automatically generated on an ip that is built outside of (2048?) units and then can be chosen on death, which will then spawn him on an ip within half that range of the new ent.
