to get arround in time
Some of you might recall this thread.

So the guys from blizzard, they sent me an email and they want me to be in paris on 9th of august which is pretty cool. So I just have a slight problem. I don't know how to get there.

I live in Aachen which is just three and a half hours from paris by train. Thats not the problem. Just how can I get from Paris North (thats the place I'm leaving.. I guess) to southwest of Paris?

If some parisien citizen could please help me out on this on. All the routeplanners on the internet are just so very confusing on this one.

Thanks!

If you want to save yourself a lot of hassle and have the money, I think the taxi is your best bet. Alternatively, try asking on a forum where people are helpful. -_-

I'm sorry but I just didn’t feel I beat the joke to death properly yet, and that bothers me when I try to sleep.

Train? Just go to the station and ask which train goes to Paris.

According to a cousin of mine who's living in Paris, apparently you actually need to be quite rude to people or they'll simply ignore you. If that helps.

i think youre on the wrong continent.. last i checked paris was in america... but you can probably take a train to it... i think it will probably fit inside...

oh wait youre asking how to get from north to south... i guess just grab a sled and some lotion and let gravity do the rest...

but what i dont understand is why blizzard wants you down there its probably full of stds and stuff...

Erm Blizzard wants him there because Veluzy is in South France and that is the Blizzard European offices?

Seen as no one can really help and just put pointless spam and I already suggest you use a taxi (it's easy but not cheap I know) try http://www.multimap.com

from what i know about paris, you will need to use the metro, should be the most practical

Take the RER (fast train system). As Creal showed, there is a link to the RER map on this site that can help you.

I've been to Paris twice but I can't remember off-hand how to get from Gare du Nord to where you need to go. I'd imagine there are Metro links to wherever you need to go.

Let us know how the interview goes...

I honestly suggest taking a cab there for the first time.

cmon, it is a job interview, you don't wana be late, or frustrated from trying to figgure out a city's masstransit for the first time.

once you know you are gona have to be spending time in paris, THEN learn the transit system (and do it on your free time, either find a friend who knows the system, or jsut go sight seeing and get ussed to it).

Atm I am having fun teaching one of my friends the NYC trains (MTA), as she is moving into manhattan.

Yeah I figured out something. I'm taken the metro/rer all the way to southparis and than ridin the cab the rest of the way. Not that bad at all.

Am I the only one who sees the novelty value in driving around Paris in a German staff car?

I mean sure its been done before, but this time you could have all the fun without the near destruction of the entire city by arson.

Gah! Of course I forget to look when there is a topic that concerns me! Yes, I'm parisian, I can give you step by step instructions if you need them... It's quite easy. I sent you a PM by the way.

Go with the taxi. (Beeing inside a taxi is much safer than beeing outside a taxi, anyway). On a small sidenote: What is a GM? Something like a Guild-Master? What does he do and what does GM stand for?

Btw: hast du schon deinen Wehr- oder Zivildienst geleistet, falls nicht kann der Spass nämlich fix vorrüber sein.

GM = Game master, kind of like live ingame support. and usually just moaning at me for roof camping

best of luck with the interview..

i really think, take a taxi. pricey yes, but itll get you there on time. and your safer, you dont know that area, you dont know the bad areas etc, its just overall safer to take a cab...

If you take a cab, call a reservation. Trust me, it's horrible trying to get a cab off a train station, I actualy expect you to go faster by subway than waiting and leaving on taxi.
