Meanwhile, Spetsnaz cracks Madame Bovary and sips a hot rum. No wait. Actually, something tells me that Spetsnaz isn't much of a reader, anyways.

So pre-ordered it. Read the first 4 books about 15 times or so (lost count around 10). Read the 5th one 3 times. I just finished rereading them last night to prep myself for book 6....

Wow, so many flamers. If you don't like the books please keep your opinion to yourself, this thread wasn't made to discuss what's wrong with the series.

He asked our opinion, so I would expect opinions to be expressed. If you disagree, please feel free to ignore what people write.

I read the first four... then threw them all out and moved on to better things like Ray Bradburry, Isaac Asimov, David Weber and William Gibson.

But out of the ones I've read, the First was the best, and quidditch sounded fun.

I have to admit, I'm 18 and while I'm not what you'd call hardcore, I do enjoy the books. The 5th one wasn't as good it's true.. at least we can expect some excitement in the form of death this time round.

-- book spoiler-- (for anyone who actually cares)

The part where sirius fall through that death veil thing really bugged me. It's like we're lead to expect him to be alive and then every other character, with the exception of luna, convinces harry he's dead.

I intend to soak up this book if only to find out what the hell is going on with that.

on another note:
OMG! lets go buy wands, scarfs and other crappy second rate merchandise for ludacris prices!!!

(I like the books and nothing else - the movies were relatively crap, luckily I didn't have to pay to see them)

It's ludicrous, Ludacris is a rapper.

I'm not into the books, but my girlfriend is. I think she'll try and get me into them. I bought the sixth on for her. The books seem to suck, and magic wands are pretty weak.

No, no you misunderstood.

Ludacris is manufacturing Harry Potter memorabilia and selling it for C-C-C-CRAAAZZZYYY PRICES!

They've got a necklace that's a platinum, diamond encrusted Lightning Bolt.

People don't actually BUY Harry Potter wands, do they? I mean, if you really wanted one, couldn't you just go out and break a twig off a tree?

At midnight tonight, all UK stores open up for the HP nerds who can't wait until morning to get the new book.
At 8am no-one will be able to get the HP book in stores.
Chaos follows.......28 Days Later style. Infection via paperback novel.

childrens books or no it's good story telling so shove off.

I'm also been reading Swallows of Kabul, which is at about 50 times the literary level and they are equally enjoyable.

Oooh.. and if you're looking for another good author: Harlan coben. Good stuff.
