<div class="IPBDescription">Question on sound output</div> So i went out and got GTA San Andreas, fun fun fun

The only problem is my sound. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

When it rains or I go to the beach or whatever and additional sounds need to be played, only that sound comes out my speakers. Or I might be driving a car and only hear the radio station music and nothing else.

After doing a little reasearch it would seem that GTA is totally configured for a 5.1 sound system.

Basically its set up to have 2 speakers to this, 2 speakers do that etc.

Since I only have my 2.1 system set up with my PC there is basically too much sound output for them to handel?

Anywanys anyone know a way to tweak it or something so my problem is fixed?

Thanks in advance,

    I have had that too. I didn't know SA was by default for 5.1 system. I have a 2.1 and it's working all fine. Sometime the game bugs out majorly and gets these awful glitches where ambience disappears (leaving only radio in car as for you) or when I grab a vehicle the camera freezes right to the point it left and never moves again. So I see myself running around or driving around and usually I have to quit and restart, losing my current status of course. But have you checked the audio settings in the options? I'll check it out right now...

    The game's really awesome, you'd ought to love it! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yah, the game is quite buggy sadly.

    Even me, on a 5.1 sound system was having the same problem. My research turned up this:

    Go to start -> run
    Type dxdiag and hit enter
    Click on the sound tab
    Under DirectX Features, drag the slider to the left for no acceleration

    That fixed it for me, and so far has not broken any other sound stuff.

    If you have AC3 Filter installed.. some of the settings in there do a ton of stuff.. i dont recommend messing with them since it can mess alot of stuff up :|

    i just dealt with it... only had the losing of sound during driving of car, but it was pretty nice just driving around with only the engine and the nice pattering rain playing!
